In our kindergarten, various competitions are constantly held. Quite recently, the results of a competition for making models of temples with your own hands
.
Any material could be used. The main priority was that the temple
should be similar to the one that actually exists in
Russia
.
The task was not at all easy. The most difficult thing for me was to maintain the relationship of all parts of the temple
and its similarity to the present.
First of all, I took a few pictures of the temple
, which is located in the center of our city.
We have a lot of temples
, but I like this one more than others, and the architecture didn’t seem very complicated!
To make the model, it was prepared
: 8 empty milk bottles (I selected only those that matched the shape of the towers, 2 two-liter kvass bottles, 5 plastic balls for dry pools (one slightly larger than the rest), plasticine, Va Moment paper, Gouache paints, interior paints, PF115 enamel, cotton fabric and linen cord.
The foundation of the temple
It became an ordinary cardboard box, which was given to me in a store near my house. True, it had to be adjusted a little so that it corresponded to the size of the selected bottles, painted in the appropriate color
"Onions" of the temple
were made from plasticine, which tightly adhered to the plastic balls and helped give them the appropriate shape.
It was much more difficult to give the cylindrical bottles a hexagonal shape. To do this, I used a linen cord, which I glued to the bottles and covered the future towers with fabric. All that remains is to paint and connect the “onions” to the towers using lids screwed together with “screws”
Then I strengthened the towers on the roof of the main building, covered the entire surface of the roof with thick paper to give it a shape and a smooth surface, and painted the roof with enamel. I used old X-ray film for the windows, and foam tiles with a smooth surface and white gouache for detailing the decorations. The crosses are real. The “golden” paint on the central dome is also gouache. This is the temple I got
.
The competition, which was announced on the eve of Easter, was attended by both teachers and parents of our students. A photo report about the competition can be viewed on our kindergarten website.
My layout took first place
, a certificate was awarded.
The Divnogorsk priest managed to unite the efforts of caring townspeople to help people who found themselves in difficult life situations. But today the parish itself needs help - the house adapted for the church is being destroyed and on major holidays can no longer accommodate all the worshipers. The rise in the birth rate in Divnogorsk, a small town near Krasnoyarsk, unexpectedly turned into a sharp increase in “refuseniks”. The head of the children's department of the city hospital, Gennady Timoschenko, grabbed his head. The local budget did not provide for a threefold increase in hospital costs for food, diapers and nurses. But, remembering that in the city there is a church of the icon of the Mother of God “The Sign”, where large families go, the doctor came to its rector, Priest Pavel Tretyakov. The priest, himself a father of many children, quickly got to the bottom of the problem and called on parishioners to help the hospital.
At first, the funds raised were enough, but help was needed regularly. Then the idea was born in the parish - to turn to the local newspaper for help: “Lights of the Yenisei”. Its next issue came out with a catchy headline on the front page: “Attention: Abandoned Children!” After these publications, few of the Divnogorsk residents remained indifferent. The material side of the problem was solved. Moreover, the editorial board of “Lights” formed a board of trustees, which, together with representatives of the Church and the city hospital, included entrepreneurs and business leaders.
Divnogorsk City Hospital - children's department. There are now six refuseniks there, but three of them have already found new families. The city's chief pediatrician, Gennady Timoschenko, is confident that all other children will find new parents, because... Thanks to the joint work of the Church, the local newspaper and the city hospital, this was possible in all previous years. In the photo: the rector of the local church, Fr. Pavel and Gennady Timoschenko
But the head of the children's department and Fr. Pavel understood that the best prospect for orphans is a full-fledged family. And again, the Znamensky parish and the local press joined their efforts, but now they were aimed at finding parents for the children.
Father Pavel also adopted an abandoned child. “The look of this boy sank into my soul so much that I did not sleep for two nights,” says Fr. Paul. “The boy was born with a serious injury to the cervical vertebrae; his mother ran away on the second day after birth.” The mother did not write an official refusal, and Father Pavel had to go through court for the right to adoption. “It was two years of ordeal, but God rewards with his mercy,” the priest smiles. “By the way, Seryozha’s birthday is October 8, the day of memory of St. Sergius of Radonezh,” says Father Pavel. “His mother gave him the name without knowing it.” Now the priest, along with his adopted one, has five children (the fifth, Maxim, was just born).
In total, five children found new parents in the Znamensky parish.
Paradoxically, it sometimes happened that abandoned children saved adults. Tatyana's youngest son died on the road. “Before that, I lived a carefree life, not really delving into other people’s problems. I didn’t go to church, although I took my children to Sunday school. Roma's death almost crushed me. Sometimes I didn’t understand where I was and what was happening to me,” says Tatyana. “My heart trembled when I saw a photograph of the “refusenik” Sasha in the newspaper. I suggested to my husband: “Let’s take him, this is not a replacement, I just want to help another child in need in memory of Romashka.” Sasha had rickets, his mother had syphilis. It took a lot of time and effort to treat the boy, but these worries brought me back to life. It turned out that we saved him, and he saved me. Soon after guardianship was granted, my husband and I had a daughter, Anya.” Today there are four children in Tatiana’s family. She is a parishioner of the Znamensky Church, sings in the choir and is sure that the support and prayer of the parish helped her overcome her spiritual crisis in many ways.
This baby's name is Danila. His mother did not abandon him, but she does not come to him either. He suffered clinical death, he constantly has a headache and a temperature of 40 degrees. He continuously cries in pain. Doctors sometimes give him painkilling injections so he can rest. His left foot is twisted, but surgery cannot be done in his condition. Danilka calmed down only when the priest took him in his arms. The guardianship authorities are preparing to deprive his mother of parental rights so that he can be adopted or taken into guardianship. But Gennady Timoschenko is afraid that the baby may not live to see the court’s decision. He is only 1 year and two months old. The boy was baptized and he really needs your prayers
The whole of Divnogorsk recently became convinced of the power of joint prayer. Just a year ago, a young parishioner of the Znamensky Church, Alena, was blind. The death of a loved one and a series of serious illnesses provoked eye disease. When the girl began to go blind, Krasnoyarsk ophthalmologists said that she was doomed to complete blindness; due to the advanced disease, her left eye had to be removed. “Is there any hope of saving the second one?” - she asked the doctors. “No, get ready to delete him too. And don’t torture your loved ones, don’t go to doctors and don’t waste money, you’re inoperable,” they told her. She obeyed and came to terms with her blindness (her right eye finally stopped seeing). Suffering from continuous pain in her eyes brought Alena to church, all this time Alena fervently prayed to God, Rev. Sergius of Radonezh and Blessed. Matrona of Moscow, dreaming of venerating their relics, although there was no money for a trip to the capital. And suddenly she was offered a ticket to the Moscow sanatorium for the blind. Thus Alenina’s dream came true, and she venerated the relics of her beloved saints. When she and her mother returned to Divnogorsk, a free coupon was waiting for them to go to a paid clinic, whose doctor insisted that Alena go to Irkutsk for surgery. Both the city and the parish collected money for Alena for this trip. “Lights of the Yenisei” again announced an action to help a person in trouble. Before the operation, the girl venerated the relics of St. Innocent of Irkutsk. The operation was successful, Irkutsk doctors discovered that the initial diagnosis was incorrect, and the next day the bandage was removed from the eye. Now Alena can see, although with glasses with strong diopters. “When you pray on your own, the Lord, of course, hears you. But when the whole temple prays for you, this prayer is immeasurably stronger,” she says.
The Znamensky Church has two priests. They are brothers - Father Pavel, the rector of the church (pictured on the right) and Father Alexey (on the left) Tretyakovs. Father Alexei recently underwent craniotomy and had a brain tumor the size of a chicken egg removed. Before the operation, the neurosurgeon said that in the best case, if Father Alexei survives, he will become a “plant.” But the priest successfully underwent the operation, the course of radiation, and today he is already serving the liturgy. It is noteworthy that he underwent surgery when his mother was taken to the maternity hospital
Children of priests. Father Paul has five children (one adopted). Father Alexey has three
This story is only a small part of the life of the Znamensky Church. His parishioners provide assistance to anyone in trouble. When the house of the large Doroshenko family burned down on the outskirts of Divnogorsk, men from the parish helped clear the site for new construction. In collaboration with social services and local entrepreneurs, the parish organizes the collection and distribution of food packages and items to the poor.
Znamensky parish
But those who help others sometimes need help themselves. Today, a significant part of the donations goes to repair the old church building where the parish is located. Low ceilings and a small room do not allow us to accommodate all the parishioners on major holidays. Therefore, the Znamensky parish of Divnogorsk is praying for a new church. 20 people took the blessing to read the entire Psalter daily (each reads one kathisma per day). On Friday, at the Akathist to the icon of the Mother of God “The Sign,” they turn to God with a request to help “benefactors and builders.” Fortunately, there is already a foundation for the future temple. And in Sunday school classes, children sculpt a new temple and people rushing to it.
For those who want to help the parish of the Icon of the Mother of God “The Sign”, we publish its details:

Our correspondent Alexey REUTSKY returned from a trip to the Krasnoyarsk Territory not only with a story about the Divnogorsk Church, but also with wonderful photographs. We bring to your attention his photo report:
Divnogorsk (40 km from Krasnoyarsk). It was built as a temporary settlement for hydroelectric power plant builders. But people continued to live here even after the construction of the hydroelectric power station. Now it is home to 24 thousand people. The city has the prospect of developing as a ski resort. On weekends, all hotels are filled with Krasnoyarsk residents. Only two enterprises are operating - a hydroelectric power station and a low-voltage equipment plant (but the number of jobs there is limited). Most Divnogorsk residents go to work in Krasnoyarsk. Gets up at 5 am, returns at seven or eight in the evening
At the entrance to the Church of the Icon of the Mother of God “The Sign” in Divnogorsk, you are greeted by two figures made of lake ice (they were made by one of the parishioners) - the Mother of God and an Angel
This ice sculpture, symbolizing the temple, stood near the ice font in which the water for Epiphany was blessed. The average winter temperature here is minus 15 degrees, and the sculptures do not melt until April. Ice sculptures also stand in Krasnoyarsk
The spur of the Eastern Sayans and the Yenisei flowing between them. Its width here is 1 km. The mouth of the Yenisei is 20 km. Thanks to the hydroelectric power station (built in 1972), the water does not freeze for another 60 km from the dam. Her temperature is +4 degrees. The height of the hydroelectric station is 100 meters
Near the hydroelectric power station there is a unique structure - a transporter for moving ships across the dam. They enter a special bath (pictured below), which then descends along these rails to the Yenisei. It was impossible to build locks: the drop of the dam is 100 meters and very steep
Krasnoyarsk Big Ben, the most remarkable building of modern architecture. Observation deck, place of wedding “pilgrimage” 10 km from Krasnoyarsk, where a year ago local newlyweds began the tradition of sealing their bonds on their wedding day with locks. Now there are about 1000 of these locks. They throw the keys into the Yenisei. Some hang one lock, but a healthy one!
On the observation deck there is also a monument to the “Tsar Fish” by the writer Astafiev. His village Ovsyanka is located below, under this observation deck
Monument to St. Luke Voino-Yasenetsky near the bishop's house where the bishop lived (nearby there is also a museum of the saint; during the war there was a hospital there). Now in the former bishop's house there is the Church of John the Baptist
Some buildings in Krasnoyarsk are painted in poisonous colors, it’s probably beautiful. Traffic jams in the city center are the same as in Moscow
The highest point of Krasnoyarsk is Karaulnaya Mountain. There is a chapel of Paraskeva Pyatnitsa on it - in the photo below (like the Krasnoyarsk hydroelectric power station, the chapel is depicted on the 10 ruble bill)

Hello everyone! Handicraft Tuesday on the ShkolaLa blog! Get your golden hands ready. Today we will make a very interesting school craft for the week of Orthodox culture. Does this happen at your school? We have them from time to time) So they asked us to do something suitable.
And we decided to make a church. We thought for a long time about what, and how? We thought and thought and came up with an idea. We will make a church out of a plastic bottle. The main thing is to choose a suitable bottle so that its upper part is shaped like the top of a church. And we found one like this, from under mineral water.
Well? Begin?
Let's prepare the necessary materials:
- shoe box lid;
- plastic bottle;
- rope;
- wire;
- braid and lace for decoration;
- plasticine (we chose white and blue);
- cardboard or baby foam (aka foamiran);
- cotton wool;
- PVA glue;
- double sided tape;
- white paint;
- brush;
- scissors.
First, let's prepare the base of our craft. Paint the shoe box lid with white paint.
Set the box aside to let the paint dry. And we will prepare planks for the fence that will enclose our church. They can also be cut out of cardboard. We used colored foam for children's creativity (foamiran). We drew stripes and cut them out with scissors.
The tips of the boards were sharpened to give the fence a more natural look. The “planks” are ready.
Now we glue them to our base.
And we move on to constructing the main object of our craft.
Take a bottle and cut off the bottom part of it. Something like this.
The top of the bottle also needs to be cut off. This is quite problematic, since the plastic at the neck of the bottle is quite hard and thick. We heated the knife over the gas and slowly cut it off.
The time has come to take care of how our future church will be attached to the foundation. Using a marker, mark a horizontal line on the bottom of the bottle, approximately 2 cm from the edge. And segments were drawn down from this line.
We cut the bottle along the marked lines with scissors and folded the resulting strips. Looks like flower petals.
Let's start decorating our church. Let's add it to the desired shape using plasticine.
How to make a cross? Very simple. We took a beautiful decorative blue wire, since our church will be all blue and white. But you can also use regular wire and then simply wrap the cross in foil.
Well, we first bent the wire in half and bent its tails to the sides.
And then like this. It turned out to be a cross!
Now we stick the cross into the top of our crown.
We take double-sided tape and cover the walls of the church with it.
Gradually, starting from the bottom, we remove the top layer of double-sided tape and begin to wrap the walls with rope.
And so on to the very top of the wall, to the beginning of the dome.
We mark doors and windows on the walls using blue lace. We made a door in the front. A thin strip of lace was glued to the top, and a silver braid to the bottom for beauty.
The windows were arranged like this: two on the sides, one on the back.
Let's start decorating the dome. We roll balls from white and blue plasticine, turn them into flat cakes, and glue them to the dome in rows, starting from the bottom.
Each next circle overlaps a little with the previous one. As does each top row to the bottom. The higher we rise, the smaller the cakes become. This is how the dome turned out! Beautiful?
We can say that we built a church.
We will install it on our base.
Remember when we cut the bottom of the bottle into petals? Now we glue double-sided tape to these petals from below.
We made the strips that are on the back side of the church a little shorter in order to install the building as close as possible to the base wall. Then we remove the top layer of tape and glue the building to the base. It holds very tightly and will not fall anywhere.
All that remains is to decorate the space surrounding the church. You can make it summer, glue some grass, make trees with your own hands and “plant” them around. But we took a different path, faster and simpler. We made a winter camp. Everything around the church was “covered with snow.” We made snowdrifts from cotton wool. And they “cleared” the path to the doors. A path made from a piece of padding polyester. All this was glued to the base using PVA glue.
So our blue and white church is ready)
I have already gone to the school exhibition.
Now, friends, you know what to do if a week of Orthodox culture has started at school. We hope our step-by-step master class will help you)
By the way, I think that our composition for Christmas with angels could also be a craft on the theme of Orthodox culture. You will find a master class.

We present step-by-step master classes with photos that will teach you how to make a church from a plastic bottle, plasticine, toothpicks, paper and even pasta.
If you know how to make a church, then you can make this craft from various materials. Not only cardboard, colored paper, but also matches and even pasta will be used.
Preparing to Establish a Church
Before you actually start cutting anything out, you need to free up your workspace by removing all unnecessary things and papers. This must be done to avoid the possibility of losing small parts. Before cutting out the components from the sheet, lightly press down all the folds using a ballpoint pen with a dry tip or something similar. The main thing is not to scratch the surface of the paper. This simple solution will help make the bends along the line much neater.
Advice
It's a good idea to use a ruler when folding the paper on straight sections. To create the inside fold, place the ruler so that it is along the fold line. And then lift the paper, pressing it against the edge of the ruler.
A church made of paper is an excellent decoration, as well as an excellent gift into which you can put all your warmth, care and love. The first thing to start with is to draw the so-called “building pattern”. It is advisable to do this on thick white paper. Next, all components need to be carefully cut out. You can find a pattern on the Internet - there are a great many different options. If you have no experience, start with the one that is simpler. When all the parts have been successfully cut, bend them along the pre-designated fold lines. Thus, the walls of your church are ready, all that remains is to carefully glue them to the cardboard platform - the base of the church.
Domes are an essential element of any temple. This means that the paper structure also needs them. The “pattern” for them can be found on the same drawing where the “patterns” for the walls for the church are. Alternatively, you can simply search for it separately on the Internet. It goes without saying that church domes should not be white. Here everything depends solely on your imagination. So, blanks for domes can be pasted over with yellow or orange paper, or you can use silver and gold foil for this.
Be careful
When gluing white paper with colored paper or foil, you need to try to make the whole process as smooth as possible. You shouldn't have any folds. Do everything so as not to accidentally crush the workpiece, because the quality of the domes and the appearance of the entire structure directly depend on its quality. When the paper patterns are ready, you will need to cut out windows in the paper walls very carefully. If you don’t want to cut them out, then you can do it easier - draw them with pencils or paints. Lastly, all the parts are assembled and glued. It is necessary to smear the seams with glue so that it does not protrude and is not visible, otherwise the church will not have a neat appearance.
Wooden church
This option is not suitable for small children and beginners. Even experienced people don’t succeed the first time. But when the craft can be completed safely, it turns out to be a real work of art.
Preparation
You will need a few materials:
- wooden skewers. The required diameter is 3 mm, the material is only birch, never bamboo;
- ice cream sticks or those used to stir coffee;
- matches;
- toothpicks;
- bamboo napkins. Take those where the sticks are the flattest;
- moss.
Sequence of gluing a paper church
The “patterns” of all the walls will need to be bent along pre-designated lines, then the walls will be glued to the cardboard area. When all the walls are glued to the site and the glue has dried, you will need to “attach” the domes on top. You can glue them with the same glue that held the walls together. As an option, you can color the cardboard area with colored pencils or paints, or go even further - glue small pebbles and sand to it, and also, for greater realism, make a fence out of matches or toothpicks. Creating an environment is entirely up to your imagination and capabilities. Any paper craft involves a wide range of imagination and creativity.
Conclusion:
A paper temple can be a worthy decoration for any interior, as well as an excellent gift for a friend or loved one. Its creation is a fascinating, but also difficult task that will require accuracy and endurance, as well as perseverance. You need to choose a time when you are not in a hurry, arrange a workplace for yourself, and then actually take on the temple itself.

Wonderful crafts
There are exclusive crafts made from matches church. Good work like this takes months to complete. A lot of matches are wasted. But it turns out to be a surprisingly beautiful thing.
Some people are so keen on building from matches that, starting with simple houses, they get to creating not just a church, but a temple from matches. It turns out to be an amazing work of art.
We recommend reading:
This craft is based on the method of folding matches into squares. Using glue. The work is painstaking. You need sensitive hands and attentiveness. There are established standards when creating such forms.
But craftsmen who have learned to work according to standard schemes go further. They are inventing new ways to build turrets and domes of churches and temples from matches.
How to make a church out of paper?
To make it, take:
- whatman;
- cardboard;
- acrylic paints;
- plastic bottle with a dome-shaped top;
- acrylic paint of different colors, including gold and silver;
- scissors;
- glue;
- blue colored paper;
- marker;
- ruler;
- icons scanned on paper.
Before you make a church, provide a pedestal for it. Make it from a sheet of thick cardboard, and cover the top with paving stones printed on a color printer. Now let's start painting the details. To make the walls, you will need to cut out four pieces like this and connect them.
Cut out rectangles from blue paper, use a ruler and a black marker to draw these future windows as follows.
Cut out the door from brown cardboard; you need to glue both rectangular and semicircular elements on top of it so that this part becomes more voluminous and it is clear that there are stones or bricks on it.
Cut two handles for the door from yellow cardboard. To make steps for the entrance to the church, you will need to cut semicircles of different sizes from cardboard, then glue them in order, starting with the smallest ones, ending with the largest ones at the bottom.
To make a dome for a church, cut the top off a matching bottle. It needs to be covered with plasticine all over, close the hole in the neck area and make this part more elongated. Then cover the dome with pieces of newspaper, soaking them in PVA glue.
Prime the dome using real primer or white paint.
By this time the primer has dried, now you can paint the dome with gold acrylic paint in two or three layers.
Glue the windows to the corresponding markings. Glue the dome on top.
See how to assemble and arrange the workpiece. After gluing the windows to the walls, attach brown tape with small windows at the bottom, then glue the church model together to make it three-dimensional. Don't forget to glue the icons to the appropriate places. Glue paper on top, which will become the roof.
Paint it with silver paint interspersed with brown. And use the same composition to mark the forged elements above the visor of the first door, and paint the column of the other with brown paint. Glue a silver cross to the dome, then glue the tower in the center of the composition.
Here's how to make a church out of paper. The process is very interesting, and you and your child will create such a significant thing from scrap materials. This is a model of a church called “Hodegetria of Jerusalem”, and it is located in Taganrog.
The next master class will also be easy for your child if you help him.
Key Benefits of Holiday Crafts

DIY pasta church
It is from this material that the next church will be created.
These flour products will create walls, openwork pasta will become decoration elements. Here's what you'll need to take:
- pasta of different textures;
- scissors;
- pencil;
- ruler;
- long lid;
- foil;
- hot gun;
- cardboard.
Create a hexagon out of cardboard and then use it to make walls of this shape. Cover it with pasta.
Attach flat noodles at the corners and at the top to complete the finishing. And with openwork elements you need to steal the top of the walls and make columns by stacking these pasta.
From a sheet of cardboard, cut out a hexagon and also a cone. Glue the elements together. Using a hot gun, attach flat pasta on top. Decorate the junction of these two shapes with semicircular pasta.
Make a dome from openwork vermicelli. To give it a shape, you can paste these flour products over the top of a plastic bottle, which is made in the form of a dome. Glue a cross made of flat pasta into the center. Attach this dome to the created roof.
Cut out a porch of the following shape from cardboard and cover the outside with pasta.
Decorate the corners of this product with flat noodles, and also use these pasta and horns to decorate the roof over the porch.
Cover the elongated lid with plasticine, and then cover this part with foil.
You have a bell. Use a glue gun to secure it in place. Here's how to make your own church out of pasta.
If an adult needs such a thing, then he can use matches as a material. The work is more painstaking, but very interesting.
