Next you need to open the lining. There are three such parts, the size of which is exactly the same as the first, second and third parts. The lining fabric pieces are cut twice as wide, then folded in half and tapered in the middle.

In this subsection we will collect all the blanks, starting with (B). We sew a lining and a nylon sling along the edge, doing it only in the middle of the sling. We form a sling loop at the ends so that other parts can be threaded through. On top you need to sew everything in the shape of a square and its diagonals, as shown in the photo.

Blanks (A-D) and (B-G) must be assembled in exactly the same way. On the side where the ring will be, you need to leave a little space just for the hem, and on the opposite side, where the buckle is located, we leave room for the buckle and the hem.

To assemble the harness, you need to make two more parts. The ring needs to be sewn on one side, and the buckle-lock on the opposite side.

Next, adjust all the parts to the desired size. We do the first fitting: we put the paws into the harness and fasten the lock on the harness. Use the loose rings to tighten the harness to the required size so that it does not squeeze the dog.

Belt dog collar

Making a collar from a belt is somewhat more difficult: it will require special tools and skills in working with leather.

Step-by-step production looks like this:

The wide belt is cut to the required length. It’s better to take a little more - you can trim off the excess later.
The edges are rounded, sharp corners are trimmed so that they do not rub. You can remove the skin from the lower part - this will make the collar lighter.
If desired, you can lubricate the belt with leather treatment cream, and then rub it with beeswax. This will make the product softer.
A strip of leather is placed on the table. It is pre-covered with thick cloth or leather so as not to damage it. In the places where the buckle and decorations are attached, round holes are made with an awl.
The end of the product is threaded through the buckle, bent and secured.
The D-ring is put on and secured.
Accessories for decoration are fixed into the free holes: rivets, spikes.

How to make a leash, step by step description:

We insert one end of the tape into the eye of the carabiner, bend it 3 cm and wrap it inside.
We sew the resulting three-layer hem using a sewing machine along the entire perimeter and crosswise. Be sure to make securing seams.
At the other end of the tape we sew a handle. To do this, wrap the tape around your hand and add 3-4 cm for convenience.
We sew the tape with a hem, forming a loop-handle.
Fold the jacquard braid in half and cut it.

plastic or metal buckles;
D-shaped plastic ring.

All fasteners and clips can be taken from the old collar. If it’s not there, go to the creativity and sewing departments. Something like that is usually always easy to find there.

Take the ends of two cords and cut each one very straight. Then heat each one with a lighter and lightly scorch it. You need to do this at the same time. Connect them to each other - do this immediately while they are still melting. Press them tightly together and wait for them to “seize.” Take precautions when working with fire!

To start making a braided collar, you need to secure the end of the rope to the buckle. To do this, pass a loop through it, and thread the loose ends so as to tighten it.

We will need:

nylon tape;
textile tape with a pattern;
plastic mount;
D-ring.

We measure the girth of the dog's neck and multiply the resulting number by 1.7. This is exactly the length the ribbon should be in order for the collar to be the correct size. Make the fabric ribbon the same length.

Machine join nylon and fabric. Sew, setting it to sewing coarse fabric and stitch length to 2 mm. Try to make the seams as close to the edges as possible, go around the entire perimeter.

Insert the fastening so that the free end goes inward by about 4 cm. Bend it and sew it to the main part of the tape under the bow to form a loop with fastening.

Then insert the D-shaped fastener and sew the protruding end completely.

Next, take the free end of our ribbon and thread it through a buckle with two holes. And then through the second part of the fastener (the one we haven’t sewn on yet). Next, we pull the free end of the ribbon through the buckle again (this loop will be under the first). Look at how this was done in the photo to correctly assemble the collar and not confuse anything.

Then we take the end of the tape and bend it back. It needs to be stitched several times to secure it well. To prevent the clasp from interfering with the sewing process, move it back a little.

That's all - we easily made a beautiful bright collar for a dog with our own hands. If you think that for some reason the dog will not like the nylon tape, simply treat it with a fabric blank not only from the outside, but also from the inside. However, usually there are no problems with this.

Option number 3: leather

Leather collars are the most practical. Typically, pets can wear them for years. If you want your dog to have a unique collar, you need to make it yourself. With the help of this master class you will easily master the technique of making it.

We will need:

a piece of leather;
buckle;
D-shaped metal ring;

water-based leather glue;
wax.

Be sure to trim the corners of the future collar blank at both ends. This is necessary to ensure that the dog is comfortable and the accessory does not rub its neck.

We take glue and go along the edges of the leather tape on all sides. This also needs to be done to prevent the collar from chafing.
