Don't get into trouble. Making safe slime yourself

A high-quality slime activator is necessary to ensure that your toy achieves the desired consistency. All “toffees” are made according to the same principle, combining three components: a polymer substance for elasticity, a dye and an activator, which turns the liquid mass into a toy. And if you can do without a dye, it is impossible to make slime without an activator. Let's find out how to make slime using scrap materials.

What is a slime activator?

A high-quality fixative for slime is an extremely necessary component. The toy consists of three components:

  • polymer for elasticity;
  • dye;
  • thickener.

The latter turns the slimy mass into a toy that can hold its shape, and therefore creating slime without a thickener is unrealistic.

What does he look like

An activator is a substance that helps thicken the liquid mass. Most of them work through a chemical reaction. The most popular active substances are derivatives of boric or salicylic acids. Therefore, the activator can be any liquid or powder containing the above-mentioned substances.

There are legends about living water...

Since ancient times, people have known the properties of living and dead water, its unique and healing properties. If you remember the fairy tales that have been passed down from generation to generation, you will definitely remember those heroes who were resurrected with the help of dead and living water, most often they were heroes. Living water - this concept is so widespread today that it is found not only in the literature, but also many companies have appeared offering various kinds of devices such as activators. One of the legends says that Alexander the Great found living water, his historical campaign to the ends of the world is significant for this, and in the manuscripts of the 14th century this fact is mentioned. The king poured living water into a jug and placed soldiers to guard it. He believed that if he died in battle, the water would be useful to revive his body. The Macedonian had a daughter, Panorea, she seduced the warrior and killed him, drank the water, and poured the rest on herself. The girl turned invisible and immortal. The Chinese emperors tried for many years to find that very elixir of immortality, especially for the government of the “strong world” and the clergy.

Already in the 16th century, the next expedition of Spanish conquerors set out in search of living water. The search took place on the islands of the Atlantic and in the Caribbean Sea, but only a tiny number of similar sources were found, and at the same time the islands of the Antilles archipelago were discovered. During the reign of Peter the Great, one of his associates, Jacob Bruce, was in search of water. Bruce wrote a will, according to which after his death his body should be sprinkled with living water. Opening the bottle of this water, the servant simply spilled it, and there was nothing left; it was impossible to do what was planned. However, a few drops did end up on the general field marshal’s hand. In the 20th century, scientists opened the grave of the deceased and, indeed, one hand was in a different state than the whole body.

Where is it sold

You can buy a thickener in almost any locality. According to the place of sale, thickeners are classified into:

  • pharmacy;
  • cosmetic;
  • household;
  • grocery.

The first include drugs whose main ingredient is boric acid:

  • sodium tetraborate;
  • lens cleaning solutions;
  • eye or nasal drops;
  • Teymurov spray.

The pharmacy also has products with salicylic acid. The latter is also sold in pure powder form. There are alcohol solutions or liquids for acne. Sometimes hydrogen peroxide acts as a thickener, but it is only suitable for creating airy slimes.

Knowing how to make an activator for slime, it is not difficult to choose a suitable and affordable option, since the range of substances in pharmacies is wide.

In cosmetics stores that sell perfumes and hair styling products, you can choose an affordable option. True, cosmetics are effective only in recipes that indicate what exactly it should be used.

But the grocery stores simply give you a huge selection. Liquid laundry detergent or dishwashing detergent are used as thickeners. However, cleaning gel for dishwashers, stain remover, and air freshener are also suitable. But the most versatile of all is Borax dry powder.

Product activators are also very popular:

  • baking soda;
  • salt;
  • starch;
  • powdered sugar.

Some of them (flour, starch, powder) are used only in some recipes. But soda and salt are universal fixatives.

BY THE WAY! Flour is the worst of all thickeners.

Activator recipes

From salt or soda

If you are interested in how to make slime from soda or salt, then the following solution recipe will suit you.

Mix three tablespoons of the bulk ingredient and one of water. By the way, soda can also be used in dry form. It is added a pinch at a time to the mixture. This is done when the mass turns out to be very liquid.

Many activators contain substances that can cause skin irritation, so it is advisable to wear gloves when preparing and handling them.

From lens solution

This liquid itself is already a “binder”. But if you have not achieved the desired effect using it, you can add a teaspoon of soda to 50 ml of solution. This way you can make it more effective.

From salicylic acid

If it is liquid, alcohol-based, then “salicylic acid” can be used as is, adding drops to the mixture.

To understand how to make slime from salicylic acid powder, read the recipe carefully, it is very simple. Take a teaspoon of the product and mix it with 125 ml of water. The acid is often sold in 10 g bags. This amount is just enough to prepare the activator.

Please note that the powder does not dissolve well in water, and for it to “melt”, the temperature of the liquid must be above 20 degrees.

From liquid sodium tetraborate

If you have liquid sodium tetraborate, then you can use it in its original form. But this option is more suitable for experienced manufacturers of taffy toys. Liquid is added in microscopic quantities, literally 1 drop at a time. At first it is extremely difficult to calculate the required dosage. Therefore, it is recommended to make a solution from it. To prepare it, you need to take 15 ml of tetraborate and 0.5 liters of water.

It is much easier and more convenient to handle such less con. The only thing is that this oily liquid does not dissolve well in water. Therefore, the solution must be thoroughly mixed before each use. For further use, read the article “How to make slime from sodium tetraborate.”

From powdered borax

If you are wondering how to make slime from borax, then check out the recipe for the solution. To prepare it, take water and borax (borax), and then mix the components in a proportion of 125 ml of liquid per 10 g of powder. This will give you the preparation used to thicken the slime.

Although it would seem that these are fabulous phenomena and legends, our ancestors clearly knew that water exists, both living and dead. If we take into account ordinary tap water, it is also not fully studied, and every year more and more new discoveries are made. Water has a lot of properties, these include both chemical and physical properties, they affect the environment in different ways, and if on the one hand they give “life” to all living things, then to some extent they can also take it away. Under certain conditions, water has healing properties and may not even freeze at very low temperatures; some waters even glow in the dark.

Looking at the regions of Central Asia, there is a higher yield of cotton if it is irrigated from underground water sources. Being in open space, water releases energy into the atmosphere. Obvious reasons are natural phenomena: wind, sun, rain, etc. From this we can conclude that there is dead and living water. It is not difficult to understand where non-living water is located; this includes all bodies of water where stagnation occurs: a swamp, a lake, a well. Ancient healers said about this water that it does not contain living energy and in the Tian Shi language is called “QI” energy. With the help of such water, decoctions and infusions are prepared for treatment with folk remedies. Dead water ages the body and has a detrimental effect on human skin. Living water is found in rain, mountain rivers and snowmelt. Glaciers also provide living water, the purest and most delicious. Such water leads to longevity and is very beneficial for health and the body.

We store and look after

Even a small amount of mold can cause allergies or skin irritation, so it is important to store slime properly. Its safety and shelf life directly depend on this. Plastic containers with a lid, cream jars, and thick plastic bags with a zip fastener are best suited for this.

The best storage place is on the side shelf of the refrigerator, where the slime feels good and does not dry out prematurely. At temperatures from 3°C to 15°C, the slime will survive quietly for a couple of weeks (store-bought slime will live for 3-4 weeks). But then you definitely need to throw it away. By the way, a long life for a slime can be ensured only if you pick it up and play with it at least every 3-4 days. If it sits without movement for more than a week, then even in the refrigerator it can become moldy. If traces of fungus appear on a toy, it must be mercilessly thrown into the trash. Just like slime lying on a shag carpet or falling into the sand.

Slightly dried slime can be brought back to life and made more elastic by adding 5-10 ml of water or saline solution (can be injected with a syringe). As a “reanimation” - 2-3 drops of PVA glue and thick shampoo. After injection, the slime should be thoroughly kneaded with your hands. But you shouldn’t “overfeed” the slime - too much “food” will quickly spoil it.

How and where to install a magnetic transducer

Magnetic filters are widely used in water supply and heating systems; they are installed in front of washing machines and dishwashers, in front of heating boilers, pumps, coffee machines, etc. Unlike many other types of water treatment equipment, a magnetic converter can be installed independently, without the help of specialists.

Flange magnetic filters are produced for industrial enterprises - they are used for water treatment in boiler houses, heating networks and other small-scale energy facilities. The household series of magnetic water activators has a nominal diameter of 8-32 mm, and is available with a threaded connection.

To install the magnetic filter-converter, you will need the following tools and materials:

  • the magnetic activator itself - its size is selected according to the diameter of the pipe
  • indoor water supply (the most common connection is 1/2 inch);
  • an adjustable plumber's wrench or wrench of the appropriate size;
  • sealing thread or fum tape to seal the connection.

The installation process itself is not difficult: sealing material is wound onto the prepared threaded connection, after which the filter nuts are screwed onto it and tightened with a wrench.

After installation is completed, it is necessary to check the tightness of the connection by briefly turning on the water.

Note! The magnetic transducer should be installed no further than 2 meters from the protected device. Ideally, the filter should be located immediately at the inlet of the equipment.

How to make a water activator with your own hands

Water activator cannot be found today

It’s difficult, there’s a lot of information about this on the Internet. If you buy an activator and carefully examine its design, you will easily notice that it is very easy to make such a device. To make the device yourself, you will have to spend some materials, a little time and ingenuity. The device for activated water consists of: a lid, live water, electrodes, dead water and a canvas bag. If you look at the diagram, the device itself consists of two electrodes, they are placed in a glass jar. The electrodes are attached to nuts with a screw, resulting in both a cathode and a diode.

Polar connection corresponds to two sides. The positive electrode releases dead water, which collects in a dense bag. The fabric for the bag should be thin and dense; the tarpaulin from which gas mask bags are made is ideal. To test the fabric, you need to blow into it and the resistance will immediately be noticeable. An electrode 100 mm long is installed in the activator. In this case, it is best to take a half-liter jar. The electrode is 0.8 mm stainless steel, ideally food grade, but aluminum is often used. A cut is made on the electrode in the shape of the letter “P”. A cut is required for the anode; it is not needed for the electrode. A nylon lid covers the neck of the jar.

These covers are not mechanically strong, so the electrodes should be attached using a seal in the form of a gasket. The gasket is made of materials such as plastic, foil and the like. The gasket is installed on the cover, holes are made and electrodes are inserted so that gases can escape. If there is a fastener on the diode, it will help secure the positive electrode. Nothing in the design will interfere if you attach a rectifier bridge. The power increases by more than 4 times, which is very important when using the device frequently or constantly.

Preparation of activated water

Preparing living water is quite simple. You just need to pour water into a cloth bag, attach it to the positive electrode, and then insert it into a jar filled with water.

The water in the jar should not reach the edges and should be slightly below the top edge of the cloth bag. More precisely, the level of water filling into the jar is established experimentally.

Preparation of living water takes no more than 5 - 10 minutes. After this, you need to remove the electrodes from the jar and very carefully, so as not to mix the resulting fractions, pour the dead water from a cloth bag into a separate bowl.

This “neat” thing is perhaps the most important drawback of the described design, of course, if you don’t think about the possibility of electric shock.

Therefore, it is better to perform all manipulations, from pouring fresh water to obtaining live and dead water, by turning off the device from the power outlet.

In this case, you will need two separate containers, only without a neck, like cans, but with straight, steep edges. The design of the electrodes remains unchanged, only they will have to be installed separately on each container.

In order to ensure electrical contact between these jars, they should be connected with a cotton cord wrapped in gauze. In this case, the tourniquet should be pre-moistened with water. Such a bundle will connect the banks electrically and provide a path for ions to pass between the banks.

Thus, living water will accumulate in one jar, and dead water in the other. Therefore, after the end of the process, it is enough to simply turn off the installation from the network and get catholyte and anolyte simply from different jars, and of the same capacity.

The entire structure, both this and the previous one, can be connected to the network not directly, but through a light bulb with a power of about 15 W. These are used in refrigerators and sewing machines.

In the event of a short circuit of the electrodes, it will act as a fuse, and in the case of normal operation, it will act as an indicator: at the beginning of the process the lamp will shine brightly, towards the end the brightness will drop significantly, after which the lamp will go out completely. This is a signal that the activated water is ready.

During the preparation of water, scale will form on the electrodes and on the jar itself, which can be removed with a solution of citric or hydrochloric acid. After this, the jar should be rinsed thoroughly.

Do not fill the device with water directly from the tap. It is better if you let the water sit for at least 5 - 6 hours so that the chlorine comes out of it, otherwise hydrochloric acid may form.

It’s quite good if you filter tap water through any household filter and boil it.

The first device for producing living and dead water was described by the well-known G. P. Malakhov. This was at the beginning of 1981, and the author and developer of the device was his friend Kratov. He did not at all set himself the task of studying the medicinal properties of the resulting water, but apparently wanted to use the water for other, perhaps economic, needs. But life took a different turn.

Suddenly, the developer of the device fell ill, not with some common cold, but with pneumonia, and even ended up in the hospital. There, the doctors presented their patient with two more “surprises”, informing him about kidney inflammation and prostate adenoma. After staying in the clinic for more than a month, Kratov did not feel much improvement. And in response to the proposed operation for the adenoma, he hurried and left the hospital completely.

But he had no intention of turning to the device yet. If pills and injections didn’t help, then what can water do? Obviously, this was the reasoning of the author of a brilliant invention, the significance of which he did not even imagine. However, maybe he didn’t think about his device at all, pushing it further behind the cabinet. But what bothered him most at that time was not even his own sores, but his son’s wound that had not healed for six months.

It must be said that Kratov was a loving father and a kind man. He could not look at the child’s suffering with indifference. Therefore, he pulled out the device from behind the cabinet and, I, too, can only assume that he thought, but I hope that it was this thought that came to his mind: “What if living water helps?” No sooner said than done. Since then, the son began to patiently go for procedures to his own father, who carefully lubricated his wound with living water, twice a day applying sterile bandages soaked in this colorless, seemingly unremarkable liquid.

But he did not have to test the patience of his son, who, of course, was skeptical about his father’s passion for “folk” methods. The wounds healed on the second day! It was a shock for the whole family. And the author of the device rejoiced. And he immediately began to treat his adenoma with living water. He began to drink 0.5 glasses of living water before meals three times a day. In less than a week, the adenoma disappeared, and along with it all the other ailments that the author of the device suffered from - hypertension, radiculitis and leg swelling. The author of the device did not believe his feelings, so he went to the clinic and passed all the tests. It turned out that he was healthy!

Then the doctor-inventor began to treat his relatives and friends. But, as usual, I started with my neighbors, fortunately, an opportunity arose. A neighbor had just scalded her hand with boiling water, so badly that the doctors determined it was a 3rd degree burn. Instead of ointments, Kratov recommended that his neighbor use “living” and “dead” water. As a result of this treatment, the burn went away in two days!

Kratov did not refuse his help to anyone, comrade. Kratov. He treated both adults and children. He even got a little boy with an abscess in his throat back on his feet in just three days. But even antibiotics did not relieve his inflammation! The boy really liked the miraculous device and, he believed in his uncle-inventor, so he gladly gargled with dead water 6 times a day, and after that he drank living water. This combination treatment gave results. Everyone was happy about this outcome, especially Doctor Kratov. Now everyone called him that only. But you, dear readers, also want to rejoice, so I devote the next chapter to the most important issue of producing a unique healing product - activated water, at home. My firm conviction: everyone should have their own home source of living and dead water. Only then will humanity get rid of its small and large ailments and finally find happiness. After all, health is the true happiness of a person. Anyone who disagrees with this has not been sick yet. But even he will find it useful to know what devices humanity has already created to heal all those who suffer with living water.

Is it worth reinventing the wheel?

Our people have emerged from the stagnant Soviet times, and the concept of deficiency has become firmly entrenched in the genetic memory of several generations. That is why, having learned about the amazing healing properties of activated water, people began “underground” work on the manufacture of devices - electrolyzers.

Of course, there is nothing special about making a blowtorch or wall lamp with your own hands - it’s cheap and useful for the home. What else can you do if you can’t get it in the store? Moreover, folk crafts have always been in value. The device can be decorated with different curlicues and generally give the product, so to speak, a national flavor. Let it stand and please your soul.

So the same chaos happened with water devices, everyone and everything they were not too lazy rushed to invent them, and need, as you know, is cunning in inventions. Everywhere people began to electrify water, so much so that in the villages in every house steam poured out of the chimney in hot weather, and in the city windows were already bursting. After all, the device was supposed to be examined. But some craftsmen managed to achieve “unsurpassed perfection.” Water flowed from the device, but no one checked the quality and properties of this water. Although people drank it, were treated, and no one seemed to die.

Well, jokes aside, I want to draw one conclusion. The manufacture of such a complex installation as an activated water electrolyzer is the work of professionals. That’s why they received education and gained experience, and the device passed tests and now has a certificate. By the way, the latter is a prerequisite for purchasing a device in a store. And it’s better not to buy it from home craftsmen. It is unknown what kind of water will come out. Maybe not activated at all, but vice versa.

What devices are sold in stores

How to choose exactly the device that you need, because now there are many manufacturers of such devices, and the devices themselves have different characteristics - try it, figure it out!

Household electrolyzers are produced in Russia, Korea, Europe and America. Foreign devices are most often multifunctional. They purify water from harmful impurities and saturate it with various useful substances. But there are special instructions for such devices. And all my recommendations for treating diseases require ordinary ionized water, without any additives.

Pristine living and dead water is the best healer, especially in combination with herbal medicine. You have already been able to verify this by reading the chapters and parts devoted to the properties of water and studies of its phenomenon. In addition, foreign devices are too expensive and not everyone can afford them. But they can install them in the kitchen and purify and ionize all the water flowing from the tap. Such devices are called flow-through devices.

There are devices in which platinum plates are installed to protect the electrodes. These plates provide special purity to the water, which is also passed through several filters.

There are also completely new types of devices in which water is ionized not by electricity, but by special minerals that create negative and positive redox potential. These are installations that copy the natural mechanism of water ionization, which was once discovered in mountain springs. The water in such devices also undergoes multi-stage purification and is disinfected.

You can prepare a device using minerals yourself if you find these special minerals, which are prototypes of the anode and cathode and have the properties of easily giving or receiving electrons. The Germans call these minerals pearls. If you are lucky and get these stones, then simply place the container with minerals in the water and wait for the water to acquire positive and negative charges.

Our domestic devices for the production of ionized water differ from each other in the range of redox potential, methods of regulating acidity and some conveniences, such as automatic shutdown, the presence of a timer, as well as the ability to enrich water with various useful additives, in particular, silver. Among the functions that are worth paying attention to, I would like to mention the ability to remove chlorine, heavy metals and organic impurities from tap water. And useful, but not mandatory installation features are a built-in controller, display, and sound signal. Also think about whether it is worth overpaying for the design, which is also expensive today, but the devices look beautiful and compact.

Which device to choose

My books are aimed at a general audience, but as a rule they are read by ordinary people who are looking for usefulness, not excess. To be honest, I myself am not a supporter of “sophisticated” products. I prefer simplicity. Therefore, I recommend choosing a device that is simple and reliable. Remember that the most important function of an electrolyzer is to ionize water, that is, to give it negative and positive potentials. It’s good if the device has an additional degree of water purification, because the quality of tap water leaves much to be desired. And don't forget to pay attention to basic amenities. After all, you must not only turn on the device, but also remember to turn it off in time. Therefore, the timer on the device will be very useful.

And finally, the last thing without which you cannot buy any medical device is its certificate. The presence of this document confirms that the device has been tested and will give you only healthy healing water.

Rules for using activated water

Catholyte, or living water, is prepared in the device and retains its properties for two days if it is stored in a sealed container and a dark place.

Anolyte, or dead water, retains its properties for quite a long time. It can be stored in a sealed glass container for many months. But it is better to use this solution in the first days after preparation.

Many of the recipes below recommend heating the activated water before use. Caution should be exercised in this case as well. The water must be heated over low heat, preferably in an enamel or ceramic container (but not on an electric stove!). In this case, under no circumstances should the water be brought to a boil, otherwise the water will lose its beneficial properties.

If the recipe says to take dead and living water in turn, then remember that between doses there must be a temporary pause of at least 1.5 hours, and when applied topically - at least 10 minutes. This is explained by the fact that when living and dead water are mixed, mutual neutralization occurs. As a result, the resulting water loses its activity.

The effect of dead water can be enhanced by using inhalations, especially for the treatment of the throat and nose with influenza and acute respiratory infections, as well as for their prevention.

When treating a runny nose, you can use the method of electrophoresis. To do this, you need to wrap two thin electrodes (anodes) in gauze, after moistening the gauze with dead water, and insert them into the nose. And press the cathode to the moistened back of the head. Of course, care must be taken and the source voltage should not exceed 3-4.5 volts.

Activated water enhances the therapeutic effect of some drugs, but it all depends on the acidity state of these drugs. In some cases, alkaline water - anolyte - turns out to be effective, in others - catholyte. If you are not sure that water will help enhance the pharmaceutical effect (this is usually indicated in recipes or on packages), then it is better not to take the tablets with it. Of course, activated water will not cause significant harm to your health, but it can neutralize the effect of the pill. And this is undesirable, since you have decided to be treated with medications. But my advice: try the water first (unless, of course, you are too ill and the doctor does not insist on hospitalization). After the first drink of the miraculous water, you will feel relief. But don't stop there. Prepare water and drink it.

So, be careful with tablets, trying not to drink them with activated water unless specifically instructed to do so. Another thing is herbal preparations. Feel free to wash them down with living water - you can’t go wrong. Water will strengthen and help and intensify their effect. But dosages should still be observed.

When taking activated water orally, the average single dose for an adult is usually 1/2 cup (unless otherwise indicated in the recipe). For children aged 2 to 5 years, this dose is a quarter of a glass, from 5 to 12 years - a third, and for older children, the dosage can be used as for an adult.

To achieve maximum effect in a number of procedures, you need to do them for as long as possible. For example, a glass of water needs to be rinsed for 8-10 minutes. How many times a day should you gargle? It depends on the disease and its degree of neglect. I would recommend three to ten times.

Unless otherwise indicated in the recipe, activated water should be taken orally 0.5 hours before meals. or 2-2.5 hours after eating. It is also advisable not to eat fatty or spicy foods during the treatment period, and, of course, not to drink alcoholic beverages.

For the best effect when used externally (for example, when treating facial skin), the skin must first be degreased (washed with soap, or wiped with a swab dipped in an alcoholic solution of salicylic acid).

When using activated water, remember that it is not an artificial, but a natural product. It does not cause allergies, but rather treats allergic manifestations. In the worst case scenario (which is quite rare), the water will not have a noticeable effect, but it will definitely give results after some time if you continue the treatment no matter what.

ATTENTION DO NOT:

Activated water must not be boiled!

It should not be stored in the refrigerator and should not be refrigerated unless necessary. This is due to a number of reasons, in particular, vibration of the refrigerator and its magnetic field. Although this field is small, its influence significantly affects the quality of water, worsening its properties.

Once upon a time in Russian fairy tales the concept of “dead” and “living” water appeared. The first hero washed the wounds received, and a few sips of the second revived the person. You can believe the legends or not trust them, but scientists have learned how to obtain these magical liquids. The process was called electrolysis. As a result of the influence of electric current on ordinary water, “living” and “dead water” are obtained. The device can be easily made with your own hands from scrap materials.

Not only bad, but also good

For most adults, one touch of this “trembling creature” evokes restrained disgust. Or even hostility, because after playing with slime, children's clothes and all surfaces in the apartment end up in frozen slime that is difficult to peel off. In addition, as studies have shown, the content of the “lickers” is not far from the form: they can contain so many nasty things...

However, let's be fair. There are still some good things about slimes. For example, it is a fairly effective anti-stress. Dipping your fingers into a sticky, quivering something that you can knead and stretch can help calm the nerves that are so tense today. By massaging slimes, children develop fine motor skills. This activity also has educational value: a non-Newtonian liquid clearly demonstrates the different physical states of matter: if you don’t touch the slime, it calmly spreads, but if you throw it or start stretching, it becomes dense and can even tear.

Finally, the hobby of making slime contributes to the creative development of the child. What if your future Mendeleev is growing up? So you shouldn’t blindly prohibit it, it’s better to join a novice slimer: thereby earning the child’s trust and sympathy, and at the same time check what he makes his slugs from and whether he strictly follows all the safety rules.
