How to make wings for a carnival costume. How to make swan wings with your own hands

Swans made from plastic bottles

Making your own decor is an exciting activity. In addition, by recycling plastic, we make the planet cleaner. The simplest decoration to make is a swan on the lake. A neck with a bird's head is cut out of plywood and stuck into the ground. Near the blank, the body of a swan is formed from cut bottles, painted white. Around the figure are placed halves of blue containers, symbolizing the border of the reservoir.

Swan Lake looks better from afar, when only the outlines of birds can be guessed

Breeding and keeping quails. Is it profitable to raise quails at home?

Often, lovers of an interesting and entertaining type of activity rush headlong into quail breeding, but such a business has many pitfalls. Quails require special conditions from humans for maintenance and effective productivity. That is why such a business does not always bring the desired profit. That is why you should weigh the pros and cons of breeding such livestock.

Advantages of quail breeding

Any farmer counts on the benefits of choosing a quail business. This benefit is as follows:

  • requires small financial investments at the start; has a high return on investment; brings the first profit after 2-3 months;
  • does not require renting huge areas;
  • makes it possible to get 3 different products (meat, eggs and live poultry);
  • When maintaining a small herd, there is no need to increase staffing.

Note! A quail farm is profitable only if favorable conditions for keeping the bird are created (including proper diet and hygiene).

Disadvantages of raising quails I don’t think that maintaining a quail farm suits many people, such maintenance also has its disadvantages:

  • the farm will require a well-heated room and a special microclimate, especially during the molting period of the bird;
  • quails do not have good immunity, so they often become infected with all kinds of avian infections;
  • the quail farm is always noisy, since this bird is one of the most songbirds in the family; Young females lay eggs for no more than 8-9 months, then their productivity decreases sharply;
  • Quail products are not particularly popular, so searching for markets can take a long time.

Swan pot made from a plastic bottle

The advantage of this bird’s figure is that a flowerpot made from a plastic bottle can easily fit on its back. As a result, the designer receives both a sculpture of a swan and a container for flowers.

What you need to make a figure

Before you start creating a swan, prepare the necessary tools:

  • putty knife;
  • knife or scissors;
  • container for mixing the solution;
  • sandpaper;
  • brush.

It is convenient to apply the solution onto the flowerpots with a small spatula

The frame of the sculpture is a large plastic bottle, onto which a solution of plastic material is applied. The classic version uses gypsum, but some prefer putty. The first material dries well, so the flowerpot is molded quickly. However, gypsum is less resistant to mechanical damage, which can shorten the life of the product.

You can also make flower pots from alabaster, a type of plaster.

To create a swan pot you will need:

  • five-liter rectangular plastic bottle;
  • a piece of plastic film 70x70 cm;
  • a piece of reinforcement with a diameter of 0.6 mm and a length of 80 cm;
  • plaster or putty - 5–7 kg;
  • iron reinforcing mesh;
  • bandage;
  • primer;
  • oil paints (white, black, red);
  • sand.

Many flowerpot makers prefer Rigips Perlitli putty because of its high ductility

The process of making a swan pot

First, cover your work area with plastic film: it will protect the table and help make the bottom for the flowerpot.

1. Cut off the side of the bottle to create a flowerpot.

The side of the bottle is cut out with a sharp knife

2. Make a hole in the cork.

You can also make a hole in the cork with a hot nail.

3. Bend the reinforcement in the form of a two.

The reinforcement is bent by hand, stepping on it with the foot in places where bending is needed

4. Insert the end of the reinforcement into the bottle through the cork and secure it with tile adhesive or primer.

Some craftsmen advise securing the fittings inside the bottle using tile adhesive

5. Knead a thick solution and place it on film in the shape of the bottom of a flowerpot.

When the putty dries it turns almost white

6. Place the pot on the mortar and coat it using a spatula.

7. Attach the reinforcing mesh to the sides of the figure at an angle of 30°. Secure it with a solution. Place stops to prevent the mesh from slipping.

The mesh attached to the sides of the bird will become the frame of the wings.

8. Moving on to the swan’s neck: coat the reinforcement with a layer of mortar.

Try to apply the mortar evenly to the reinforcement

9. Then wrap it with a bandage along its entire length.

Do not wrap more than one layer of bandage

10. Press the bandage into the neck and apply another thin layer of putty. Smooth out the lumps with a brush.

11. Then we form the skull and beak of the bird. First, put a little solution on the head area and spread it with a brush. A wire is inserted where the beak is planned.

Look at a photo of a live swan to get the proportions right.

12. Then we wrap the head with a bandage in one layer.

It is better not to replace the bandage with a cloth; the solution should penetrate through the cracks between the threads

13. Press in the bandage and apply another thin layer of solution.

14. When the putty on the wings has set, we continue to improve them. Wet one hand, take a little putty and apply it to the outside of the wing, supporting the reinforcing mesh with the other hand on the inside. In this way form both wings.

To prevent the solution from sticking to your hands, wet them

15. Smooth out the putty with a brush.

To prevent the solution from sticking to the brush, dip it in water from time to time.

16. Moving on to the tail: slightly bend a piece of reinforcing mesh 10x20 cm, attach it to the back of the bird and fix it with a solution.

If the solution is thick, there will be no problems with fixing the tail

17. Place a support for the tail frame so that it does not move.

To hold the tail frame in place, you can use a regular brick

18. Leave the figure to dry. The swan is almost alive.

Gradually the swan takes on real shape

19. After a day or two we carry out the finishing touches. We increase the thickness of the solution where it is lacking: we thicken the base of the neck, round the head, and give a natural look to the wings and tail. Using wet fingers, a brush or a knife, we make streaks on the swan’s wings, imitating feathers.

To avoid cracking, do not move the plant pot until it dries.

20. Dry the figure completely for 2-3 days. Sand the pots with sandpaper and coat them with primer.

Tips from craftsmen for making flowerpots in the shape of a swan

It’s not difficult to create a unique decoration if you follow the recommendations of experienced craftsmen:

  • mix the thick solution;
  • each layer of solution applied to the product needs to be dried;
  • at a time, plaster is placed in a layer of up to 2 cm, and putties - no more than 1 cm;
  • if the pots are left to spend the winter outside, use frost-resistant mixtures;
  • before applying the solution to dry surfaces, spray them with water from a spray bottle;
  • smooth out any unevenness with a brush dipped in water;
  • At the end of the work, the sculpture must be coated with a primer, otherwise the paint will roll off in lumps.

If the recommendations of the craftsmen are not followed, the appearance of the pots will quickly deteriorate.

Do-it-yourself swan for the garden: several manufacturing methods (video)

October 16, 2015

A very beautiful craft is often made - a do-it-yourself swan for the garden. Nowadays it is very fashionable to decorate your home with handmade crafts: it is elegant, popular and beautiful. The garden deserves special attention. A swan and a flowerbed, for example, carry the energy of the owner and bring him success, because it is not for nothing that such great attention is paid to this.

Particularly demanding people can make a decorative element to their liking, adding designer flair and a personal vision of decoration. And the fruits of one’s own labor are pleasing to the eye and self-esteem. An unbridled desire to create can turn into a masterpiece of art. Thoughtful inventors have adapted to making sculptures from scrap materials. This is considered a trendy, environmental trend in decoration. Without special material and time costs, you can make a unique decoration for the garden.

The swan is the embodiment of all positive qualities and characteristics, which is why many people want to have a sculpture of it in their garden. The high cost of finished products and doubts about their quality and service life make you think and put your imagination into action.

Materials for production

To make a swan sculpture for the garden, scrap materials are used. These can be damaged rubber tires, tires, plastic bottles, spoons, bags, wood, stones, building materials and auxiliary aids.

Swans can be assembled from petals cut from plastic bottles.

There are very well-known options for crafts made from plastic bottles, which are durable and versatile in use. Used tires can be used in a similar way, you just need to cut and paint the material correctly. Such sculptures can have a practical meaning, since they can act as a pond, flower bed or flower bed, but they are also an aesthetic decoration that emphasizes the theme of the garden. Polyethylene bags do not have a long service life, but can compete with other materials.

Wood is a less commonly used material and requires skill and manual dexterity. It is only available for use by qualified personnel. Stones, due to material costs and physical effort, compete with other materials, but are distinguished by durability, sophisticated style and elegance. Construction mixtures can be useful in this matter, because they are affordable and easy to process; Special attention should be paid to gypsum and cement mortars.

Swan made of rubber tires

Old car tires can be given a second life by finding great uses for them in the garden. So, from them you can make one of the fairy-tale characters. A swan made from rubber tires is the most affordable and economical means for decorating a garden, because old tires are also useful here. Probably everyone has met one of these in crowded houses. So, to make a swan from tires, you should get a tool. First you need to prepare a work surface, cover it so that you can work without polluting either the product or the workspace.

The next step should be the direct selection of material. You should choose the most worn tire with a longitudinal pattern for ease of working with it and painting the finished product. Next, you need to thoroughly clean it of any dirt, dust and other interference in operation, and dry it. So, we have prepared the material for further processing.

Diagram of a swan made from a tire.

Then you should mark the surface of the tire into parts and cut it along the contour with a jigsaw. To make the product you will also need a metal rod, drill, wire and pliers. Any owner can find these handy tools.

The marking is carried out on an already cleaned wheel. Initially, you need to draw the outline of the future swan with chalk and cut it out with a jigsaw. You can use a sharp knife, grinder and other convenient tools. At the same time, it is important to remember safety and not neglect basic rules in order to avoid injury and other troubles. It is best to move from head to tail in parallel lines for ease of use of auxiliary tools. The edges of the trim must be processed - smoothed with a knife or grinder.

Then you need to turn the product inside out and form the body of a swan, the bend of the wings and neck. This will help to do this with a metal rod or wire attached at the base of the tail and along the body. Then you need to give the product an appearance by painting it in certain colors, highlighting the beak and eyes. Installation of the work is the final stage of production. To do this, you can use another tire or stump.

We fix the swan and decorate it with lush vegetation and colorful flowers. It is known that in nature swans are devoted lovers, so making a pair of swans would be appropriate. They will perfectly decorate a garden, pond, flower bed, abandoned stump and complement the decor.

Swan in the garden made of plastic spoons

Plastic spoons are a very cheap and durable material. So, you need to stock up on plastic spoons of the same color, preferably white, clean them and prepare them for use.

A swan for the garden can be made from plastic spoons.

First of all, you need to make a swan frame on which the spoons will be attached.

It can be made from a plastic bottle or wire and wrapped with bags, paper and tape, giving shape.

Then you need to form the silhouette of a swan, pointing the head, beak, spreading the wings, and paste the silhouette with spoons on the inside of the product.

This will create a plumage effect and decorate the appearance of the craft. The beak must be highlighted in a different color and the eyes drawn. You can fix the product on a stump or another part of the garden, taking into account windy weather and rain.

Putty swan

A garden swan made from putty is the most convenient and beautiful way, since the product initially has a snow-white color, and you can shape the wings and plumage yourself, making the product as similar as possible to a real swan. To do this you need to take:

  • putty knife;
  • putty;
  • plastic 6-liter bottle;
  • water;
  • bandage;
  • metal rod;
  • metal mesh;
  • tassels;
  • film.

To make a putty swan you will need an iron rod and a large plastic bottle.

Initially, we will prepare the workspace: spread the film, knead the solution, place it on top of the film - this will be the base on which you need to place a plastic bottle on top, cut so that the lid remains in place and fixes the metal rod, neck and head of the swan.

Pour filler into the bottle - earth or sand, depending on the purpose and vegetation inside the sculpture. Make a hole in the lid and secure a curved metal rod - the future bend of the neck. Next, mix the putty and apply evenly from the base to the neck, forming feathers with your fingers, attach the metal mesh in place of the wings, giving a natural bend. Then, using our hands and a brush dipped in water, we sculpt the wings and smooth out the rough edges.

The neck deserves special attention. To secure the putty to a metal rod, you need to press it tightly with your hands and secure it with a bandage. Apply a thin layer of putty evenly on top with a brush.

We form a bend, a beak, a tail, let the product dry well, give it a solid color with acrylic paint, draw the beak and eyes, and fix it with varnish if desired. The swan is ready to decorate your garden. All that remains is to plant the flowers, fill them with water or other filling. It is important not to be afraid to experiment, try out all the decor options, and make your fantasies come true. The same goes for the plaster swan.

Other materials for making a swan in the garden

Swans made from plastic bags are incredibly beautiful and voluminous. To begin with, prepare the base, the frame, onto which the cut strips of the package of the same color are attached. The eyes and beak of the swan stand out in color. Special attention should be paid to the production of crafts from gypsum, which, when used correctly, is an environmentally friendly and excellent means for decorating a garden.

Durable service life, beautiful appearance - stone also has these parameters. Pebbles and granulated stones are perfect, they can be fixed with cement mortar and you can build a swan for the garden.

You can fill the volume with soil and plant flowers, form a weave, a flower bed and a beautiful flower arrangement of different colors.

Final design of the pots

The mute swan has a dark stripe running from its eye to its beak.

The eyes are painted with black paint, and the beak is painted with red or orange.

You can’t take your eyes off the finished pots

After the paint has dried, the sculpture is coated with varnish for exterior use. This will protect the swan from bad weather. You don’t have to paint the bird, but simply coat it with varnish after priming.

A pot with a flower is placed in the finished flowerpot.

Bright flowers look good in a white swan pot

Creating your own swan...

The article presents a traditional version of a flower pot in the shape of a swan. When creating my swan, I changed some of the steps to give the sculpture more strength. I sculpted a swan from Polimin reinforcing glue. As experts said, to create the base, you can take any cheap ready-made dry mixture for finishing work. The disadvantage of the glue is that each layer took 24 hours to dry .

To thicken the neck, I put a corrugated sleeve on the reinforcement, which allowed me to save on the amount of solution.

The corrugated sleeve bends well and is easy to put on the fittings

The solution doesn’t stick well to the bottle, so I put a vegetable net over it. The part that covers the hole in the planter will be cut out when the work is completed.

Store-bought onion mesh is ideal for reinforcing a five-liter bottle

The neck was additionally secured with wire. The soil in the pots does not hold the reinforcement and it constantly falls. Holes are made in the bottle with an awl, a wire is inserted there, the ends of which are bent.

If you don't strengthen the swan's neck, it will be too mobile

To prevent the product from being destroyed later when moving, the wings were also reinforced with a façade mesh.

When placing the facade mesh on the wing, it must be immediately covered with a thin layer of mortar

In the same way, you can strengthen the beak and head of a swan instead of a bandage.

Facade mesh gives strength to the beak

The tail has also been strengthened.

The more frame structures in a sculpture, the stronger it is

Charming swans are made from plastic bottles. The most exquisite craft is a flower pot in the shape of a swan. To create the decoration, use durable materials, and then the graceful bird will remain in the garden for a long time.

DIY gift swan

Step 1. Making the basket (base) of the swan-shaped basket. For

To make the base, we need industrial double-layer cardboard.

We cut out the base in the shape of an oval, for which draw on cardboard a circle with a diameter of 8-10 cm and a second circle with the center on the line of the first circle. Connect the edges of the circles together to form an oval. For the walls, cut two strips of cardboard 6cm and 10cm high. Iron the strips with a rolling pin to make it easier to bend them into an oval. Glue a small strip around the base, see photo above.

Next, glue the second strip, the larger one around the first, photo above. We bend the protruding part of the larger strip inward and glue it. Thus, we strengthened the rim of the oval. We turn the base over and strengthen the seam wall and base of the basket by covering it with paper, see photo above.

The finished base of the basket is the basket.

Step 2. Making the base of the swan's wings, neck, head and tail.

From wire we create the shape of the wings, neck with head and tail of a swan, as shown in the photo below.

Next, we add volume to the neck frame and head, for which we glue a rope type rope between the wires of the neck frame using tape, as shown in the photo below.

We give the final volume to the head and neck of the swan, for which we glue it with rope type rope, as shown in the photographs above.

Finished detail of the head and neck of a swan-shaped basket.

We also add volume to the wings and tail of the swan, for which we cover the wire frame with rope, as shown in the photo above.

Step 3. Finalization of details.

Details of the swan's basket: wrap the head, neck, wings and tail with ribbon, as shown in the photo.

Step 4. Assembling the basket.

Glue the swan-shaped basket parts to the base. To strengthen the gluing, we secure the parts to the basket using copper wire.

The result of assembling the parts of the swan's basket.

Step 5. Decorating the basket.

To decorate the basket, we make a bag from decorative fabric by cutting out an oval at the base 1.5 cm larger. And a strip of fabric 1.5 times the height of the walls of the basket. We will sew a bag from these parts.

We will decorate the main part of the basket with this bag. Since the bag will decorate half of the wall (photo above), for the bottom of the walls we will cut out another strip with a height equal to the height of the wall of the basket and decorate the bottom of the walls.

We paste the oval of the base with the same fabric and glue it to the base of the basket, completing the decoration of the main part of the basket (photo below).

The result of decorating the base of the main part of the basket in the shape of a swan.

Step 6. Decorating the wings and tail.

We cover the wings and tail with beautiful guipure. We glue corrugated tape along the edges, as shown in the photo above.

We finish decorating the swan-shaped basket. We decorate the neck and head of the swan with corrugated tape, as well as the seam on the wall of the basket.

We have created a basket, which in itself is already a decoration. This is a great wedding decoration attribute. In addition, you can decorate any gifts in this way. A gift for a newborn will look especially beautiful in such a basket. We just gave free rein to our imagination a little and got such a miracle!

How to make wings for an angel yourself

Angel is a popular character at costume parties. The nature of the image may depend on the theme and age. The range is very wide - from a cute angel at a children's party to a fallen angel at Halloween or wings from the game Terraria. Angel wings remain an invariable attribute. Despite the unusual appearance and apparent complexity of the design, many people can make such a craft.

Angel wings for party

How to choose the right size and shape of wings

There are many options for master classes on how to make angel wings with your own hands. It is worth making a choice based on the service life and nature of the party. Some models are quite fragile and can only withstand one appearance, but it will be very impressive. There are options for a reusable children's costume that can be given to the younger group after the holiday.

Important! The size of the wings should be chosen taking into account the height and age of the person.

If a child needs a costume, then small angel wings are suitable, they will not hinder movement and are light in weight. For adults, you can try on the festive version in large sizes. It is worth considering the theme and nature of the party. If you have to participate in dances or competitions, then the costume should not interfere with this. Fantasy should be limited only by common sense.

Irma's master class: how to make wings https://forum.dollplanet.ru/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=6357

Base: fabric adhesive interlining and fishing line

Next, cut out the “feathers” from the satin ribbon and burn the edges with a lighter.

then we sew them onto the frame

we sew feathers on top and sew on a hat elastic and this is the result

this is what it looks like on a doll

Julia's master class:

First, we cut out a blank from the foam:

We put wire on it (so that we can bend our wings and give rigidity to the shape) and cover it with a strip of paralon. Grabbing over the edge:

I needed long “flight” feathers, medium ones, small curved ones and down (I abandoned the colored ones in the process of work)

Using glue (I have a transparent waterproof gel-moment), cutting off too long petioles, we attach the flight feathers and make a “wave” on the wing:

Down layer:

Next are the averages:

Again a layer of fluff:

We've made the front base of the wings, let's move on to the next one: we sew on ribbons for fastening (I didn't set myself the task of making a completely invisible fastening - I could have thought about the elastic band, so I sewed ribbons):

We glue the topmost feathers so that the wing profile is not disturbed:

Now we glue the fluff onto the very edge of the foam blank so that it is not visible:

Almost from the very edge we stick the middle feathers:

And now the most technically difficult part: we place small curved feathers on top in a herringbone pattern so that they fit both on the face of the wing and on the inner part

Well, we glue several whole down feathers into the middle. The wings turned out to be very realistic, with all the necessary bends and thickening on top, smooth-smooth!

What can wings be made from?

The materials for making the product are simple and can be found in every home. The components used are:

  • cardboard;
  • paper;
  • natural feathers;
  • textile;
  • lace;
  • isolon;
  • wire;
  • cotton pads;
  • mastic;
  • decorative elements.

Different variants

Making wings from paper, cardboard

Paper and cardboard are inexpensive and common materials; they can be found in every office supply store. They are quite easy to use at home and are inexpensive. The process of cutting feathers from a paper base is quite labor-intensive, since you will need to make many elements that will look like real feathers.

Required materials and tools:

  • thick cardboard;
  • White paper;
  • glue gun;
  • scissors;
  • a simple pencil;
  • Printer;
  • elastic band for fixation.

Wings made of paper

  1. Making the substrate. For this purpose, you need to use thick cardboard, which will become the basis for the feathers. You can draw the shape of the flying structure yourself. You shouldn’t draw the outline too much; the shape is corrected by the feathers along the edge.
  2. An elastic band is attached to the base, this place is camouflaged.
  3. The main part is creating decor in the form of feathers. Blanks can be drawn by hand or printed on a printer to save time. The feathers are attached in layers to the base. It is better to start gluing from the bottom so that the glue is not visible.

Note! Each feather should be attached to the top edge, and the bottom should be curled using scissors.

Swan for the garden / I

Necessary components for making swans for the garden with your own hands When I was invited to a master class on making garden sculptures, which was held for everyone, I agreed very reluctantly at first. I've seen all this in both factory quality and homemade versions. Yes, and we recently made a turtle - a craft from tires for the garden. But what I saw not only amazed me, it delighted me! And after this, an irresistible desire appeared to do it all with my own hands! But first things first. To complete the work, namely these beautiful white swans, we need a five-liter plastic bottle. Preferably square in shape for stability. Metal rod made of mild steel, 6 mm in diameter. Several packages of medical bandage, mouth gypsum or any other starting putty, a construction spatula (narrow), a brush, a container for water, a container for mixing mortar and construction sand..

What will we use to make the neck for the Swan? Using your hands, bend the rod in the shape of a two.
Heat the bottom end of the rod and insert it through the lid inside. Use a cutter to cut off the top edge of the bottle. Secure the rod with small pebbles and cover them with a small amount of rotgypsum. Then we fill the bottle with construction sand, having first slightly widened its sides to give it roundness. Sand should play the role of a counterweight in the process of making the sculpture of our swan... Bottle, top view, after pouring sand... For better quality of work, it is necessary to cover the workspace with plastic film. Then we put our bottle on it and mix a little rotgypsum. Advice - do not make a reserve solution, it sets very quickly and further work with it is not possible! Mix the solution until it becomes a thick dough and apply it to the bottom, outside our base. We place the workpiece on the prepared solution and level it with a spatula, periodically dipping the spatula in water, this makes it much easier and more efficient to work!.. The next step is the base of the neck. In wet hands we take the prepared rotgypsum solution and make a roller, which we carefully coat the rod together with the bottle cap... Constantly, with a brush dipped in water, we adjust our work... Then we need to coat the entire base of our swan. To do this, apply a layer of solution approximately 2 centimeters thick over the entire side area of the quinoa. And we correct the work with a spatula and a wet brush... The next stage is the creation of wings. For this you need a masonry mesh measuring 15 by 30 centimeters. We press it slightly diagonally into the solution. Bend it slightly so that in the future the wings will turn out more natural... And without stopping we fix them. There should be enough putty to secure them firmly to the body. Once you have done this, you can safely rest for half an hour so that our solution sets and securely fastens the wings. If necessary, you can use a support (brick, log, etc.) so that the wings do not move under their own weight!.. Now there will be a very important stage - the formation of the shape of the wing. To do this, wet your hands and take a little solution and carefully stick it to the outside of the wing. With the other hand we secure the process from inside the wing. Don't worry that something might go wrong. We will eliminate all defects and flaws in the following steps... Making a neck for a Swan with our own hands In the first part, we formed the body of a swan for the garden with our own hands and its wings. Today we will finish it. Moreover, the putty has set and there is no longer any fear of ruining what you started. To form the neck, we form a lump of putty with wet hands and stick it onto a metal rod... We constantly adjust the shape of the neck with a wet brush... As you form the neck, so that this element of the sculpture is sufficiently reliable, wrap the neck with a bandage and squeeze it with a wet hand into the desired shape... Pay special attention to the thickening of the head and the flattening of the beak. Do everything with both hands and actively help yourself with a brush... Making the Swan's tail Leave your head alone, making a support for it from scrap material. It takes two hours for it to set and acquire the desired rigidity. In the meantime, we'll work on the ponytail. To do this, bend a piece of mesh at an angle of 45 degrees and use a solution to fix it to the swan’s body... Using both hands, apply putty to the tail and give it the desired shape. Don’t be afraid that it won’t work, a damp brush and your imagination will help you. Be sure to make a support for the ponytail. Like this... I had to redo the neck because I didn't secure it securely. The second time I was more careful... We continue to remove the tail. Gradually add rotogypsum by stretching and bending it at the same time. Swipe up and down and right and left with the brush, this creates a beautiful structure. In addition, it is very important not to rush. Help create the desired texture with your fingers.. To make the sides, draw out the edges of the workpiece on the shoulders of the swan using a specially made putty roller and smooth it. It is very important that everything looks natural, organic and proportional... This is how I got my ponytail - front view. Here is a side view of the workpiece. Pay special attention to the texture of the wings. To do this, apply a small amount of rotgypsum, with wet hands, to the wings and tail. Approximately, like this!. Almost finished sculpture of a Swan Well, here we have an almost finished swan for the garden, made with our own hands. Take a look at this handsome guy. Putty all the places that do not correspond to the integrity of the image. Pay attention to the neck, beak, wings and tail. Everything should be harmonious. If all is well, leave your swan covered with plastic from the rain for a few hours. Then move it to a warm, dry area. The mass of the swan turned out to be almost ten kilograms, so if you are not confident in your abilities, then it is better to ask for help. After a couple of days of drying, sand off all the unevenness and roughness with fine sandpaper, then prime with acrylic primer and start painting. I did two coats of oil paint three days apart. The eyes and beak are all special oil enamel. Then I spray-varnished it and here is the beauty before us. You can use it as a single sculpture, but it’s better to use it as a pair... ya-superpuper.com

Fabric wings: step-by-step instructions

This option will be durable and suitable for long-term wear.

Required materials and tools:

  • cardboard or thick paper;
  • white fabric;
  • lace;
  • wire;
  • scissors;
  • sewing supplies: needles and threads;
  • elastic band for fastening.

Fabric version

  1. The ideal version of paper wings is folded and flowing. Draw the base on white paper. The wings must connect to each other.

How to cut a swan from plywood

To create a beautiful figurine from plywood sheets, you first need to take care of a good pattern (drawing). If you draw well, you can make it yourself. Also, a ready-made version can be found freely available on the Internet. It needs to be printed, then cut out or transferred to plywood using carbon paper.

You can start cutting along the contour of the resulting image with an allowance of up to 1 mm. If you have little experience working with a jigsaw, then the pattern can initially be transferred to a denser material, for example, cardboard, and then used as a template.

It is recommended not to use a hacksaw or knife when cutting plywood, as there is a high probability of chips, fringes and other defects on the edges.

After cutting, the edges of the figurine are processed with sandpaper - paint or varnish adheres more easily to smooth surfaces without unevenness, and the possibility of damaging your hands is eliminated.

If you plan to paint, then the optimal colors are white or gray. Eyes, key and other details can be applied with a marker or felt-tip pen.
