Hello, I bought a new air conditioner, and I decided to convert the old BK-1800, which was still quite working, into something useful, for example, a compressor for the garage. There is a receiver from kraz and 50 l. propane tank for conversion. If anyone has encountered such an alteration, then the question is:
- how much pressure can be squeezed out of it?
- the alteration procedure itself - the nuances and whether there is any point in bothering at all. It is intended to be used for tire inflation and minor touch-ups. If it doesn’t work with a compressor, then what else can you come up with with it? It’s a bit of a shame to rent it out for metal; they give you 300 rubles for spare parts – it makes no sense; putting it up for the summer at the dacha is a waste. Offer, the amount of work is not intimidating, almost any tool is available.
I made steps from them. On the way to a friend’s dacha there was a deep hole that was constantly filled with water in rainy weather; boards were laid there, but it was still difficult for people to walk. And so a couple of such air conditioners were successfully placed in this pit, forming strong steps along which people now walk. Although, the air conditioners were completely new. Bought (6 in total) back in Soviet times, they were simply lying around in the garage, so it was impossible to sell them, and there was nowhere to put them. There is still one BC left, I can give it to the steps.
6 Conders bought in Soviet times? Admit that this is your “skeleton in the closet”.
2kr_ko Something similar has already been discussed, look for it. I won’t tell you about the pressure in numbers, but it will be enough to inflate the wheels. I opened the compressor from the refrigerator. I tried it, it works both as a vacuum pump and as a compressor. Two problems: 1) Corrodes very easily; 2) Apparently, it is necessary to periodically lubricate the piston with oil. Although both of them may not occur if the compressor is not opened.

Thanks for the answer. I didn't find anything by searching. What kind of piston is this? and how to lubricate it and with what?
on Xbit a person remade the bookmaker
That is, there was another circuit in it, the air conditioner cools the water and the water is already in the room, I simply placed the evaporator in a container with water and pumped the water through the radiators in the room, placed the air conditioner outside the living area, got silence and a comfortable feeling - less temperature difference I think it’s wrong to make a compressor from a working condo, well, they’ll leave it at the dacha, but you’ll live in comfort for a week) or put it in the garage - you can partially disassemble it and leave the unit itself on the roof and place the evaporator indoors - the length of the tubes there turns out to be 300 mm

. and he probably got puddles of condensation under the radiators.

Damn barbarian. I have one on my balcony in the summer - the south side helps a lot... And this summer the radiator was completely clogged with fluff. Then I washed it unsuccessfully in the bathroom, taking it completely apart and rinsing it all with a strong stream of water. Long story short, the fan motor burned out (water got in), so I started looking. I threw it everywhere. I was ready to buy it for 500 rubles (motor only) and found it. I was driving through traffic jams in the heat through all of Moscow to the other end for this crap... AND YOU. -steps. had.
