Required materials:

  • tree shoots;
  • bird feathers;
  • hay, straw;
  • thin rope or thread;
  • glue, scissors;
  • plastic plate or foam.

A finished decorative nest, intended for placement in the garden, can be painted, quail eggs, devoid of contents, can be placed inside, and then installed on a tree.

One row of bricks is laid on a pad of cotton padded jacket. In a nest equipped with an egg collector, the bottom consists of several parts; a container for collecting eggs is placed under it.

The litter requires daily replacement, and eggs should be collected as often as possible at a minimum cool temperature. Eggs are stored in a fairly dry room with no odors.

It should be remembered that if the bird does not like the nest, it needs urgent rework. Otherwise you will not get good quality eggs.

How to make a nest for Easter

Many housewives thoroughly prepare for the celebration of Easter a few days before the holiday - they paint, paint, paste over eggs, bake Easter cakes. At Easter, it is customary to visit people with gifts; usually Easter cakes and eggs are brought in wicker baskets. You can diversify the tradition - make a nest yourself and decorate the table with small themed souvenirs.

Some ideas for making nests for Easter:

  • Form a “fluffy” nest of small diameter from thinly sliced paper, glue it to a cardboard base, and put quail eggs inside. The souvenir is suitable for decorating a holiday table.

  • You can form nest-baskets from colored plastic cups. The blanks are cut into thin strips to the bottom of the cups, wrapped downwards and fastened with a stapler. Miniature crafts are decorated with decorative eggs and colorful flowers made of corrugated paper.
  • For a gift, you can use a glass jar with a latch and a lid. The bottom of the dish is lined with decorative grass in the shape of a nest, eggs and sweets are placed in it. The jar is tied with a bright decorative ribbon with a card containing the recipient's name.

There are a lot of variations and ideas on how to make a decorative nest for Easter; you can see the tips in the comments. You can weave and shape crafts from any natural and available materials. In a festive theme, it is appropriate to use flowers, beads, colorful ribbons, and bright bows.

Beginning of work

The basis can be a round plastic blank made from a disposable plate or polystyrene foam. Small branches are attached to it using glue, which are attached to the base with a thin thread.

Then bundles of hay or straw are placed and glued on top of the branches, which are held together with threads for strength. Using scissors, the nest is trimmed, the inner surface is smeared with glue and a layer of hay is placed on it.

For a fabulous effect, walnuts painted with gold or silver paint, as well as table tennis balls, are suitable.

Round-shaped stones are also suitable for these purposes. You can buy small chicks in the gift shop and place them in the nest along with the eggshells.

Metal threads and feathers of fantastic birds taken from hairpins are also used.

Spring crafts

The arrival of spring is marked by the return of migratory birds, the active settlement of nests and birdhouses, and the appearance of chicks. These features are reflected in spring crafts:

  1. Application. A beautiful bird couple in a nest against the background of the bright sun is a wonderful example of spring appliqué. You will need a white sheet of thick paper, colored paper, a branch of a tree or bush, straw or thin stems. The basis of the composition is a branch on which a nest of grass stems (straw) is placed. The sun and birds are cut out of colored paper and glued. Young green leaves and paper flowers are attached to the branch.
  2. A flock of their origami birds. Very simple, small, colorful birds can be made using the origami technique. To do this, strips are cut out of colored paper and folded into a knot, so that one end (tail) is slightly shorter than the other. At one end of the strip, a bird's head is formed with scissors, and at the other, a tail. It is enough to plant such birds on a branch, and they will transform into a flock of returning migratory birds.
  3. Application "Flock". It is easy to make from pieces of cloth and paper napkins. The bird is formed in the form of half a circle. Napkins with corrugated edges are most suitable. Such blanks are glued to a white sheet. It is enough to draw on the paws with a felt-tip pen, glue on the beak and paper eyes, and the craft for kids is ready.

Available materials can also be useful for making spring crafts. A cheerful bird family is made from milk cartons, Kinder surprise boxes, colored paper and small feathers. Holes are cut in the bags and they become birdhouses. Kinder surprises are ready-made bird bodies. It is enough to glue feathers or fluff to them, and the birds will receive plumage. The remaining necessary parts are cut out from colored paper.

The stork has one dream - height

A roof, a pillar, a tree - any natural platform is suitable for recreating a stork’s nest with your own hands, the main thing is that the birds fly up to it freely.

Oddly enough, in nature, long-legged dandies do not always settle high from the ground: stork dwellings were found on stumps, in thickets, and simply on the ground.

If the area is open, the nest can be installed lower than required near buildings and power lines. Traditionally, nesting boxes are raised to a height of 4 to 10 meters.

The attractiveness of original works

Any handmade craft is a flight of imagination, creative ideas, and craftsmanship. The theme of bird's nests is often played out in artistic interiors, landscape design, and designer gift works.

Entourage can be used for different purposes:

  • Decorate the living room - a nest on the mantel, coffee table, nightstand.
  • Decorate the dining room - crafts suspended from the ceiling above the dining table look interesting.
  • Use in landscape design - build large nests in branches, on stumps. They look great with decorative birds.
  • Decorate the festive table for Easter - you can place a nest with Easter cake and eggs in the center of the table.
  • Use as a natural setting - for a photo zone, decorating a children's room.
  • Use a real nest to attract birds to the site - you need to choose natural materials for the craft.

Beautiful author's works will not go unnoticed by others. It’s attractive that there are no identical handmade crafts. Each work is unique, because the author shows personal artistic vision and imagination.

The stork is the embodiment of ancient beliefs and legends

Since ancient times, this strong bird was considered sacred and people believed in its mystical power. Causing harm to a stork was considered a bad act and entailed adversity, illness and crop failure. For this reason, many peoples treated storks with special attention, built nests for them and protected them.

The origin of the word “stork” is not fully understood, but in many languages it is similar to the name of magpie in German “heister”. In the CIS countries, other names may be used for this bird.

The myth of storks delivering newborns comes from the ancient people's belief that these beautiful birds carried away the souls of the dead, who then turned into babies.

In addition, the figure of a stork is a symbol of love and respect for parents. Even in ancient times, people were convinced that stork chicks, when they matured, fed their parents and looked after them. The “Stork Law”, which appeared at the same time, obliged children to support their parents until their death.

Storks are an example of devotion to their family. Both parents take part in incubating the eggs, and in the spring the inseparable pair always return to their family nest.

Support and foundation of the structure

  • Pillars made of any material can serve as support for the nests.
  • The wooden base for the roof nest is made from boards nailed to the crosspieces and then attached to the roof ridge.
  • On top of this base, a platform, grate or wheel is attached with nails.

'Craft

Only professionals can arrange a site for black stork nests.

For plant species that only need to be stable in size and not fall apart at ground level, nets, trellises or structures with horizontal guides are suitable to keep the plants compact and avoid excess moisture underneath. Humidity can cause disease and become a breeding ground for pests. It is also easier to check lifted equipment for problems and damage.

The most popular types of vines for which this type of support structure is suitable:

  • Willow roses;
  • blackberry;
  • Jasmine from the holoroom.

Create happiness - create happiness

In the comments under one of the photos on my Instagram, you made it clear that you want to see this master class on the blog. Thank you for your interest! I am happy to tell you how to make a decorative nest with your own hands.

Perhaps it’s still early and cold for the birds to build nests, but for me it’s just right. After all, spring is the time for Easter decor.

Take a walk near your house, look for willow, small sticks and twigs, you may be lucky enough to get a couple of beautiful feathers. And don’t forget to go to the pet store, that’s where you will find the main ingredient of the master class - hay.

Why might you need a decorative nest?

A decorative nest is perfect for spring interiors and for the best way to present beautiful Easter eggs.

  • for Easter decor
  • for garden decoration
  • for photo zone
  • for playing with a child
  • for a beautiful Instagram layout.

Decorative nest - materials and tools

The diameter of the nest at the top is about 18 cm. Time spent is 20 minutes. We will need:

  • hay (can be purchased at a pet store)
  • threads
  • scissors
  • glue gun
  • some cardboard
  • sisal (optional).

Popularity of storks in Ukraine

Another legend says that these birds brought bunches of grapes to the Zaporozhye Cossacks in Tatar captivity and thereby saved them from hunger. There are similar legends in Moldova, where this bird is a symbol of viticulture.

Sculptures of storks have recently become increasingly common in cities, villages, courtyards and dachas. The sculpture of a stork on the site not only serves as decoration, but is also a way of self-expression for the owners of the territory.

The variety of compositions with storks allows you to choose the one you need, showing your taste and aesthetic imagination.

Possible locations for installing the stork sculpture

There is no place where such sculptures do not look attractive. If a stork with a baby is chosen, then there is no better option than flower beds and lawns.

Pairs of storks can be placed both at ground level and on a hill. However, a sculptural group of several storks on the roof will look tacky.

In natural conditions, stork nests can be observed not only on hills, but also on the ground. Therefore, the plastic figure of a stork, securely fastened, can be installed both on a high stump and in thick grass. You can decorate your house with such figures, placing them nearby on a pole or on the ridge of the roof.

Nest in a tree

You will need the following materials and tools: We recommend you look here

  • Metal mesh;
  • Hammer and nails;
  • Saw, ruler;
  • Sandpaper;
  • Wooden bars.

Sequence of work:

  • Sand the bars;
  • Saw the bars according to the markings;
  • Make a mesh bottom;
  • Assemble the parts into a single structure.

Making a nest with your own hands from

Before you start work, you need to decide on the size of the craft - will it be a large composition for decorating a landscape design or a miniature souvenir for a holiday. Ideas for creativity can be viewed on the thematic site. It is necessary to stock up in advance on materials for the base, decoration of the craft, and tools for its manufacture. By following simple instructions, everyone can build a beautiful composition with their own hands.

Branches and twigs

Option #1

This master class is about weaving a nest from branches. To do this, you will need the most flexible twigs, such as those of birch, willow, willow, and grapevine. On sale you can find decorative sticks of various sizes that resemble brushwood. It is enough to go for a walk and collect small twigs - they should not be dry or brittle.

How to make a nest from branches:

  1. The flexible rod is rolled into a circle.
  2. A jumper should form in the center of the circle.
  3. The ribs of the nest are attached to the jumper with twine or wire.
  4. Then you need to form an odd number of edges in a circle.
  5. Flexible rods are woven between the ribs and secured with wire.
  6. They decorate the composition with down, feathers, sisal, pebbles - the souvenir is ready.

At first, the souvenir will turn out to be incomplete, with large holes. After weaving the frame, you can add additional twigs and dry grass to fill the gaps.

In the video: a nest made of birch branches.

Option No. 2

The option of creating a topiary nest using hard branches is more complex and requires special care. But the finished composition is well suited for decorating an interior or garden.

  1. You need to take a thick cable and free it from the cores.
  2. Pull strong wire into the winding for rigidity.
  3. Give the blanks an arbitrary shape of the stems.
  4. Bend the edges of the wire into the shape of hooks to secure.
  5. Wrap the prepared elements with bright green yarn.
  6. Seal the hole in the flower pot with regular tape.
  7. Make a thick mixture of building plaster and fill the pots.
  8. Place the wire stems into the plaster until the mixture hardens.
  9. Decorate the base of the composition with decorative flowers and leaves.

Now you can move on to forming the bird’s nest itself from dry tree branches or decorative sticks:

  1. It is necessary to inflate a balloon with a diameter of about 15 cm.
  2. Use tape to tighten the tail, giving it a round shape.
  3. Connect three branches into a triangle with hot glue.
  4. Attach to the ball, gradually add new branches.
  5. When the nest is formed, the ball can be deflated and removed.
  6. Attach the craft to the main composition and decorate.

If you can’t form a frame from twigs or branches, you can use a plastic plate for the base, attaching ribs to it for weaving the craft. When attaching branches to the ball, you need to carefully use the glue gun so that the ball does not burst.

You can add a few feathers to the middle of the nest, hang the craft on the main composition and plant decorative birds. This topiary looks attractive and unusual.

Hay or grass

The easiest way to make a bird's nest is to use hay, straw or grass. This is the best material, simple and pliable to work with. A small souvenir is suitable as an Easter decoration - you can place painted eggs in the prepared craft.

How to make a decorative nest with your own hands from hay (grass) using a cardboard base:

  1. Lay out the hay in a flagellum 80 cm long.
  2. Wrap a strong thread around the flagellum in a spiral.
  3. Cut a circle with a diameter of 11 cm from cardboard.
  4. Spread the edge of the circle halfway with hot glue.
  5. Apply a hay rope in a circle and press.
  6. Coat the second half of the base, add hay.
  7. Form a nest from the rope in a spiral, smearing the edges with hay.

To ensure that the craft retains the shape of the bird’s nest, the hay is expanded upward in a circle. The bottom of the souvenir is lined with down, feather grass, sisal, and hay. The souvenir can be decorated with beautiful feathers and small spruce branches. In the same way, you can make an interesting craft from grass in 20 minutes.

You can choose green material to make the souvenir look natural, although imagination is appropriate in design work.

Thread and yarn

Beautiful compositions in the form of bird's nests are made from cotton threads. They are quite thin, come in different colors and shades, and easily fit on the base - a balloon.

How to make a nest from threads:

  1. Inflate a balloon of any diameter - according to the size of the souvenir.
  2. Pull a thread into a thick needle and pierce a tube of PVA glue.
  3. Pull out the needle and wrap the ball with thread soaked in glue.
  4. You need to wrap a wide part of the ball, approximately to the middle.
  5. Leave the craft to dry for a day, remove the ball.

It's even easier to make a bird's nest from a skein of twisted yarn and a plastic base. The threads need to be well fluffed, glued to the plastic bottom and formed into a nest, decorated at your discretion with bright decor, down, and feathers.

You can decorate a delicate souvenir with artificial feathers, twigs, flowers, or place eggs, birds or other animals inside.

Cardboard and paper

In a short time it’s easy to make a beautiful craft from scrap materials - paper and cardboard. A plastic plate is used under the base and glue is used to secure it.

Making a paper nest:

  1. Kraft paper and thick cardboard are cut into thin strips 10 cm long and 1 cm wide.
  2. Turn the container upside down and wrap the plate in cling film.
  3. Each strip is smeared with glue and applied to the base with one edge in a chaotic manner - there should be free ends left.
  4. After drying, the plate is removed, the film is removed and the souvenir is decorated with colorful decorative elements.

If desired, you can put birds in the nest, put quail eggs without contents, or make paper filling.

Making nests for laying hens

Designs come in different levels of complexity. The simplest ones do not need design, but capital solutions cannot be built without accurate drawings (you can learn about programs for creating drawings and diagrams from the article on our website).

Let's consider several options for nests.

The first picture shows a double-sided nest that can be placed in the center of the coop.

Drawing of a nest for laying hens with an egg collector

These solutions are used in poultry farms. They have automatic doors driven by an electric drive. At a time when chickens are not laying eggs, they will not be able to bring debris and dirt inside.

The floor of the nest has an inclined shape. The eggs roll down it and end up on a conveyor. Of course, such mechanisms are useless for a home chicken coop, but by somewhat simplifying the design, you can get comfortable nests. Instead of a conveyor, you can adapt a retractable tray that will go into the next room. This will allow you not to disturb the chickens with your presence.

This drawing shows a compact nest with an egg collector.

Classic nest design with egg receptacle

They can also be stacked on top of each other. The nest was made according to the following principle.

  • The basis is a small wooden box, on one side of which there is an entrance in the upper part.
  • There is a double bottom inside. Its upper part is inclined towards a smaller passage, covered with a light curtain, which will bend under the weight of the egg rolling from above
  • Under this shelf there is bedding - the same sawdust. This allows the nest to be well insulated.
  • An egg receptacle is attached to the lower passage, at the bottom of which sawdust is also poured, which will soften the blow.
  • It may seem that the chicken would be uncomfortable sitting on an inclined surface, but this is not the case. The tilt of the moving board should be 15-20 degrees. This is enough for the bird's comfort and for the eggs to roll down.

The following picture shows the type of nest where the egg receptacle is located under the hen.

Design of a nest for laying hens with a pull-out tray

From the outside, the structure of such a nest is no different from other models. We see a closed box, the entrance to which is covered with a folding door that the chicken can overcome on its own. Again, this measure is needed to reduce litter in the nest.

Inside we see a gable double bottom, in the middle of which there is a hole sufficient for the passage of eggs.

Below is a retractable tray, which also has a sloping bottom. That is, the egg travels this way - it rolls to the center of the nest, falls into the tray, and rolls down to its edge. The distances must be strictly adjusted so that the fall of the egg does not cause damage to the shell. Places where an impact may occur should be covered with a soft material, for example, a thin layer of rubber, which will soften the impact.

We invite you to familiarize yourself with marinated cream tomatoes for the winter, very tasty

In principle, the structure of other options will not differ much. Some models may have small functional additions. For example, the following picture shows that the egg tray is accessed not by pulling it out, but by lifting the entrance platform.

Lifting mechanism

You can immediately see that the bottom of the tray is lined with soft synthetic material.

Read on our website: typical poultry house designs.

The simplest version of a nest for laying hens can be made from an old plastic food box. Their peculiarity is that they are securely placed on top of each other, which will allow you to build a compact multi-place battery. The products are strong enough that they can even be screwed to the wall of the chicken coop, as shown in the photo below.

Hanging nests from plastic boxes

'Craft

The disadvantage of this solution is that one such box takes up quite a lot of space, and the bird may not be entirely comfortable due to the internal space.

Boxes should not be placed on the floor, as this will not have the best effect on the health of the bird, so even under the plastic it is necessary to build a small wooden platform.

To work you will need the following set of materials:

  1. Plywood for walls and shelves. It can be replaced with boards, but then you will have to tinker with the assembly longer.
  2. Beam 35*35 mm or larger for building a nest frame.
  3. Metal fasteners. It is best to assemble the products using self-tapping screws, so that there is still the possibility of quick disassembly, which may be required to redesign the structure.
  4. Sandpaper for surface treatment – we have already written about the quality of the product.

This structure is entirely made of plywood.

The tools you will need are a standard carpenter's set: a hammer, a screwdriver, an electric jigsaw and a tape measure with a pencil.

The work proceeds in the following order:

  • A drawing is being developed that takes into account the size of the chicken coop and the number of cells required.
  • Next, the bars for the frame are cut according to the calculated dimensions. It is recommended to pre-treat the wood with sandpaper before it is dissolved into small parts. If you have a sanding machine, the work will be greatly simplified.
  • According to the developed drawing, we cut the parts and knock together a frame, which we can then begin to cover with sheets of plywood to increase the strength of the structure.
  • If your product is multi-tiered, you should build platforms for climbing to the top. They are made from inclined boards, on which jumpers in the form of steps are filled with small steps.
  • We make sure to make take-off pads.

Assembling a chicken nest from boards and an old pallet

Advice! If you don’t want to bother with the assembly at all, and options like an old bucket as a nest don’t suit the owner, then you can buy special plastic products in stores. They come in wall-mounted and floor-mounted types. They can be mounted on the wall of the chicken coop or on a specially equipped stand.

'Craft

Ready-made nest for laying hens

By and large, the procedure for assembling a nest with an egg collector will not be any different. The structure is also made frame, only a pallet is added at the bottom.

When assembling such nests, care should be taken to ensure that chickens do not have access to the laid eggs. The collection section can even be fenced with a chain-link mesh, as shown in the following photo.

The eggs from such a nest will always be clean

If you want the nest to be comfortable for the bird at any time of the year, you should take care of its insulation. In this case, the frame is covered with plywood on both sides so that the birds do not come into contact with the insulation. In order for the nest to be properly ventilated, it is worth using mineral wool, or supplementing its design with vents.

Experienced poultry farmers know that when laying eggs, a chicken’s body temperature rises to almost 40 degrees. If the nest is cold, she will have to expend more energy to maintain the specified body temperature, which will ultimately negatively affect the bird's overall performance.

There's definitely not enough room for four here.

'Craft

You can learn more about building a chicken coop at your dacha from the article on our website.

Chickens are shy by nature. Therefore, at first they will be wary of the new structure. It is impossible to say with certainty how long it will take for the hen to get used to the nest.

First you need to try locking the chicken in the nest for a couple of nights. Sometimes this is enough. If the hen still refuses the new place, place the laid egg there.

It may be worth moving the structure to another, more comfortable place in the chicken coop. Or simply give the hen more time to get used to the new nesting area.

Creating an imitation nest from branches with your own hands is quite simple. Such a composition, when using real branches, will look much more attractive than a sculpture purchased in a retail chain.

Through this process, which requires patience and focus, true creative satisfaction can be obtained.

'Craft

The following description will help you understand how to make your own nest from branches. Young branches that do not break and are more flexible than old or dried ones are more suitable for making a nest.

It should be noted that there is a ready-made metal base on sale, to which you can easily attach a vine, and its design includes parts that secure the lower part of the sculpture. To give special stability to the figure, its metal legs are welded to the base.

Roofs. The nest is attached to the rafters using nails or screws.

Trees and stumps. Trees can be cut down not at the root, but higher from the ground. On such a high stump, the figure of a stork will make an indelible impression.

How to make a pheasant nest

Pheasants need a free environment. Nests for these birds should be made in closed enclosures. First, a layer of peat is placed in the nest, with a little turf and hay on top. The nest is made in the shape of a small depression, sizes - from 130 to 250 depending on the size of the bird. In the future, the female will finish building her nest herself.

When keeping pheasants, a number of conditions must be taken into account:

  • be sure to provide shelter: females will be able to provide shelter both from annoying males and from bad weather;
  • build several poultry houses if you are planning mass breeding;
  • pheasants need vegetation, so sow the ground in the enclosure with millet, rapeseed, etc.;

  • To prevent birds from getting hurt, the nets are made of soft metals.

Since nests are made very simply, let’s focus on the construction of the enclosure itself. For this you need:

  • planks;
  • Rabitz;
  • for the roof of the house - corrugated sheeting;
  • hammer with nails;
  • dye;
  • for the base of the enclosure - posts.

Step 1. First you need to put up the pillars, they will become the basis of the bird room. For such a task, iron, wood or concrete are used. It's great if you can install concrete pillars, they will last a long time.

Step 2. Afterwards the area needs to be marked. Cement is poured into the holes dug for the base and posts are installed.

Step 3. Next comes the difficult stage of stretching the mesh. Even for experienced craftsmen, this process takes a lot of time and effort. Use nails to secure the mesh.

Step 4. What is missing from the enclosure? That's right, roofs! If it is built from slate, it is recommended to initially install wooden rafters.

Turkeys love silence, darkness and warmth. If the room meets these requirements, then the bird feels completely safe. In addition, in the absence of drafts, the turkey will not get sick, and the eggs will be of high quality. Straw, branches (can be replaced with earth) and hay are laid on the floor.

There are many types of nests themselves. Let's consider three main ones:

  • From boxes. A regular vegetable one will do for this. It will be better if it is made of wood. The box should be washed, thoroughly disinfected and dried. Place a bedding on the bottom and surround it with a fabric screen.

  • Made from bricks. Make a soft layer on the surface where you plan to place the nest. A regular padded jacket, for example, is perfect. Bricks are laid on top in 1 row. Moreover, you need to leave free space to place the eggs.
  • With retractable egg collector. They look like a nest-box; its bottom is made of several parts. There should be a gap between them. The egg should pass through the hole freely. A collection box should be installed under the bottom.

You need to acquire the following tools and materials:

  • wooden or plywood planks;
  • self-tapping screws (nails);
  • sandpaper;
  • saw;
  • hammer;
  • screwdriver

As mentioned earlier, this can be either a separate cell or an entire structure consisting of sections.

Step-by-step instruction:

  1. Sand the plywood or boards.
  2. Cut the material according to the size of the future nest. It is important to remember that in terms of length, width and height, one cell is not made less than 30 cm. To calculate the length, multiply the intended number of compartments by 30. If the bird is large, then larger sizes are taken.
  3. Make a box from the blanks. Future nests can be strengthened by attaching strong bars from the inside in the corners.
  4. There should be no nails or sharp parts inside.
  5. The entrance is easy: the box is left open at the front, which is the easiest method. Or you need to cut out holes in the shape of a circle, each of which will lead to its own compartment.
  6. Along the bottom of the box, attach a bar that is 10 cm high and acts as a threshold along the entire length.
  7. A wooden beam is attached horizontally along its entire length, maintaining a distance of 10 cm from the entrance holes, which will serve as a take-off platform.
  8. A ladder is made for nests with several tiers - it is important that each level has its own ladder.

Children's crafts made from natural materials

You can make many beautiful crafts from natural materials that will decorate your home, children’s room, or simply give your child a lot of positive emotions from spending time with their parents. The last time I did something like this was when I was a little girl. A lot of time has passed since those distant times, but the experience remains and is useful. Now they were no longer showing me how to glue chestnuts with a cone to get a chick, but I was telling and showing my son the magic of transforming natural materials into animals and birds.

If for some it is not difficult to come up with a funny creature from the materials that nature has given us, then for others a description or, as we now say, a master class is needed.

Today I am happy to share with you those crafts made from natural materials that my son and I made for an exhibition in kindergarten on “Autumn Day”. Any child can do them if he gets a little help, but that’s what parents are for, to help.

To work you need:

- pine cones - chestnuts - pumpkin seeds - nut shells - black peppercorns - burdock seeds (budyaki) - feathers - dry grass - cardboard - pieces of wire - glue (universal or glue gun)

Harvest mouse

To make a mouse, you need to use a pine cone for the body, 2 pumpkin seeds for the ears, ground black pepper for the eyes and nose, and a piece of wire for the tail.

We connect all the parts with glue and get a beautiful animal.

Mushrooms

To make mushrooms you need 2 cones with a cut off upper part (so that they stick well) and 2 nut shells. Glue the cone-leg with the shell-cap.

Autumn fly

To make an annoying autumn fly, you need to take 2 bugs (burdock seeds) of different sizes (head and body), black peppercorns (eyes), leaves of evergreen bushes (wings).

Glue all the parts together to get this beauty.

Chicks in the nest

This craft is a little more complicated than the previous ones. To work, you need cones (the bodies of the chicks), chestnuts (their heads), ground black pepper (their eyes), and diamonds made of colored paper (their beaks). Dry grass, feathers and twigs are also needed to form a nest.

We glue the chicks together (torso, head, eyes, beak). We form a nest from grass. We place the chicks inside the nest. We decorate the nest with feathers and twigs.

Frame

For any favorite picture of your child, you can make a photo frame from pumpkin seeds. To do this, glue your favorite picture (photo, sticker, etc.) onto a round cardboard (oval, square or any shape) and paste the edge of the cardboard with pumpkin seeds. These are the crafts my child and I made. Do you make crafts from natural materials?

Features of the placement of the stork figure

On the ground, it is advisable to place the sculpture in a well-lit place, not far from the bushes.

If there is a pond on the site, then the sculpture of a stork will give it additional attractiveness.

'Craft

A stork in a nest personifies family values and therefore such a sculpture should be installed in the place where the family spends most of its time.

The figure should be positioned so that the stork's head is directed towards the house, not away from it.

Crafts from branches

In autumn and late summer, walks with your child in the forest or park are especially useful. It is during this period that many interesting natural materials can be collected. The most fertile soil for creativity is dry branches. Crafts made from dry branches do not require special processing or skills. Sometimes even the simplest piece of driftwood in the hands of a creative person turns into animals or intricate decorative items.

Inventing different compositions is very useful for the development of a child. This helps develop creative thinking and hand motor skills. Evenings doing this activity have a very good effect on the atmosphere in the family.

Compositions from branches

Surely you have seen beautiful photos with wooden decorative items more than once. Craftsmen create the most beautiful compositions of their branches in country flower beds. In skillful hands, simple branches turn into shelves, curtains, candlesticks, vases and even chandeliers. What can be made from branches? Themed crafts look very good.

If you have the opportunity to get a vine, then for the New Year you can make the most beautiful Christmas tree balls. We cut off the roots and weakly bendable parts from the branch. Clear the bark. We twist three large branches into rings. Each one needs to be wrapped with smaller branches. Now we insert the rings one into the other to form a ball shape. Next, we wrap this blank with small twigs to add volume. The finished ball can be left in its original form, or it can be painted with gold or silver paint.

For Christmas, you can make a craft from dry branches in the form of a wreath. To do this, bend a few large branches a little so that they take the shape of a circle. We carefully fasten everything together with thin wire. For splendor, add a few more small branches and decorate with cones or ribbons.

How to make a nest from branches?

For the big family holiday Easter, you can prepare in advance and make a nest. You can make such a nest from willow branches. Fibers are woven between the branches. You can put several eggs and sweets in the nest. This craft made from branches can become a festive table decoration.

The Easter tree looks very impressive. How to make such a tree from branches? For this you will need tree (bush) branches, multi-colored egg shells with ribbons. You can “grow” such a tree in an ordinary vase or flower pot. Ribbons with eggs and bows are attached to the branches. Instead of regular shells, you can use artificial eggs for decoration.

Stork made of plastic bottles

Templates for the body and wings of the stork are cut out of plywood. To work, you will need plastic bottles of dark and light colors, screws and electrical tape.

  • The templates are fastened with screws.
  • Strips of white plastic, simulating feathers, are cut from milk bottles.
  • The feathers are glued to the stork's body.
  • Black stripes are used for the tail.
  • The beak is wrapped with red electrical tape.
  • The material for the legs can be wire, and the eyes can be purchased at a specialized store.

Crafts from bottles

In skillful hands, plastic bottles become a good craft material. You can make the following bird crafts with your own hands:

  1. Peacock from bottles. You need to prepare: plastic bottles of several colors, polystyrene foam, a metal rod, foil, thin plastic, a log and glue. First, the body of the peacock (together with the head) is cut out of polystyrene foam. Small notches are made at the locations of the eyes. The body is attached to a metal rod, which is attached to a log used as a base. “Feathers” of different colors are cut out of plastic bottles. There should be 3 types in total - elongated feathers for the tail, the shortest ones for the neck, medium size for covering the body. One end of the workpiece is rounded, and a fine notch is applied to the edges, imitating a feather. The tail unit is decorated with small ovals cut from foil and thin plastic. The decor is attached with a stapler. A beak is cut out of a red bottle. The feathers are glued one by one to the foam body. They should partially overlap each other. The crest is made of colored plastic and has an arbitrary shape. The eyes are painted with paint. The tail is formed using a mounting mesh. Its assembly starts from the tip and is done in rows. The finished tail is attached to the body.
  2. "Bottle Flamingo" To create a bird you will need: 5 and 10 liter plastic bottles, PVC pipe (length 220 cm), plastic corrugated tube (60-70 cm), polystyrene foam, wire, acrylic paint. The body is formed from a 10-liter bottle. You need to cut holes in the bottom and insert PVC pipes (legs). The plumage is cut out from 5-liter bottles in the shape of feathers of different, but quite large sizes (the width is about half the bottle). Incisions are made in the body where feathers are inserted. A neck is formed from a corrugated tube. Then it is inserted into the cap of the body bottle.

The bird's head is carefully cut out of foam plastic and sanded. The eyes are drawn on it and the beak is attached. A wooden or metal base is used as a bird stand. The plumage should be glued starting from the tail. To make the wings, a metal mesh frame is first cut out. Then plastic feathers are attached to it. The final look is achieved by painting it pink.

Polyurethane foam stork

  • The body parts are attached with tape to a plastic base.
  • A beak is made from a nail.
  • The legs of the figure can be made of steel reinforcement, electrodes or wire.
  • The base is covered with polyurethane foam.
  • Excess foam is then cut off.
  • The figure is covered with acrylic paints.
  • A nose made of wood is attached to the nail.
  • The tail and wings are covered with feathers.

A stork sculpture is made in a similar way from a plastic canister, bottles and foam.

Birds in flight

But the option that we described above is just that. It serves both as a visual element and as an actual nest. Enjoy it for your health

We invite you to familiarize yourself with crafts on the theme of autumn for kindergarten

  6. The final painting and drawing out of small details with acrylic paints is carried out.

The finished painting must be coated with colorless varnish, after which it takes on its final appearance. This craft can be stored for a long time.

The flight of a bird is fascinating, and the child will be very happy to create a craft on this topic. We can offer a frame technique for making light models of soaring birds. The process requires accuracy and patience. To make it you will need: thin transparent plastic, tape and multi-colored paper.

The basis of the craft is a frame made of plastic strips. They can be cut from sheets or used plastic bottles. Using tape, strips form the frame of the bird. Next, feathers are cut from colored paper to cover the frame. The photo shows a crane with its feathers spread out.

The bird theme occupies a prominent place in home creativity. Using simple technologies, you can create beautiful crafts with your own hands that you won’t be ashamed to show at a competition or exhibition. It is important to captivate the child in the creative and production process, and then it will become a real pleasure for him, and the final result will be his pride. There are a lot of ideas for crafts, and you need to choose the most interesting and exciting option.

Steps Edit

Look for stems that are long and flexible.

These will form the base of the nest and are easier to work with than short, stiff branches. You can use straw, grass, vines, willow twigs, flexible reeds or seaweed. You can collect them yourself or buy them at a garden supply store. Another good option is raffia, which can be found in craft stores. [1]

  • If you have feather grass or a similar grass growing in your area, hold a bunch in your hand and swipe up from the bottom (as in the game "cock or hen") to get a handful of seeds with fluffy hairs. When you have enough seeds, collect them into a ball and use your thumb to form a nest shape.

Bend the stems into a ring.

Take a thick bunch and bend it into a U shape. Add more stems if necessary to create a closed ring. Tie the ends together with a piece of string or floral wire. [2] If the plant stems have a lot of small leaves or if they are dry and tough, you can simply weave them together without any additional equipment.

  • If the nest is too difficult to tie, you can glue the ends together and temporarily hold them with something until the glue dries. [3] Do not use glue if you plan to place the nest outdoors.
  • If freshly cut plants don't hold their shape, try hanging the bunch in the wind for 24 hours to dry. Some plant stems are easier to weave when they are fresh, but grass and straw will benefit from drying.

Form the rest of the nest.

Take the second, smaller bunch of stems and fold it into a smaller ring. Insert it into the larger ring and push down slightly to create the base of the socket. Depending on how well the stems hold up and how strong you want the nest to be, you can use thread or glue to connect both rings to each other.

How to make a nest correctly

So, let's get down to the most important part of our story - manufacturing. To make this beautiful miracle of nature, you first need to create the form itself.

Usually the shape is made using plates. It is necessary to wrap the stems of various natural sources around the plate. For example, you can use vines, grass, straw and much more.

However, the material must be strong enough. Such materials can be easily found in forested areas, so it is easy to find.

Next we move on to the next steps, namely securing the branch to the base. This method will already require glue, otherwise it won’t stick, and the most reliable source of strength is glue.

You need to place various algae or straw on top. Algae gives the nest a more beautiful appearance, which makes it possible to enjoy a good nest from a visual point of view.

And again, you can’t live without reliability. You'll have to secure it all with glue, otherwise everything could collapse in an instant. A decorative nest for the garden should not only be beneficial to nature, but also pleasing to the human eye.

Our last steps will be to secure the beam. It needs to be bent in the shape of the letter U. After which you need to tie the ends with thread or wire. Don't forget to take a photo of the twig nest

There is absolutely no need to buy special creative materials at a high price. If you use your imagination, you can come up with many ideas for creating crafts.

What materials can be used?

  • Hay or straw.
  • Branches of trees or shrubs.
  • Twine or other thick threads.
  • Bird feathers and much more.

In addition to basic materials, you will need scissors, thread, and glue. The nest can be of absolutely any shape and size.

Rules for caring for nests

Want lots of healthy chickens? Then take proper care of your eggs! To do this, use the tips below:

  • change the bedding every evening;
  • collect eggs more often in cold weather, otherwise they will freeze;
  • store them in a dry place free of foreign strong odors;

    Ideal conditions for birds
    Ideal conditions for birds

  • clean the nests themselves regularly so that microbes do not infect the eggs and undermine the health of the birds themselves;
  • nests should be comfortable and free for all birds;
  • In order not to disturb the hens, you need to make noise insulation.

In order for the bird to fly in the nest you have assembled, you must follow the following rules:

  1. Choose a shaded place that is not exposed to direct sunlight.
  2. It should be dry and warm. To do this, straw or sawdust is spread there. Farmers choose sawdust because it is more difficult for chickens to push out of the nest. The layer of sawdust should be below the level of the edge of the nest, otherwise the eggs may fall out of them.
  3. The bottom of the nest can be made of mesh so that its contents are properly ventilated and dry. This will make it possible to pay less attention to the condition of the litter.

    'Craft

    The bottom of the nest is lined with straw

  4. To prevent sawdust from spilling out of the nests through the cells, the holes must be very small. Straw will not fall even on a mesh with large holes.
  5. The structure should not be at the entrance to the poultry house or on the ground. These places have low temperatures and high humidity. The chickens will not want to lay eggs here and will look for other places.
  6. You need to think about good protection from predators. If chickens feel threatened, they will choose quiet places to lay eggs.
  7. The nest must be a separate structure, not attached to the walls of the house. Otherwise, proximity to the street will lead to freezing of the nest. It will be used in warm weather. The walls can be insulated.
  8. During construction, you need to ensure that there are no sharp chips, chips, or protruding screws and nails. The bird can get hurt from all this.
  9. The number of nests is calculated based on the total number of birds - there should be one nest for every 5 laying hens.

How to make a nest with your own hands?

1. So, to make a decorative nest, you will need to be patient. Let's start by creating the basis for the future craft. Using wire pliers, you need to make a cross-shaped structure, adjusting its ends to the desired size. You should use thick wire to make the craft durable.

2. Then you need to braid the entire basket with thinner wire, imitating a cuckoo’s nest. Don't go overboard with the amount of wire. Remember that this is just the basics. Next, we begin to weave spruce or willow branches into our frame, doing this according to the principle of an ordinary basket: we weave each twig, threading it in a circle.

Cuckoo's Nest

3. It is not at all necessary to do everything very carefully, because protruding elements will create the illusion of resemblance to a real bird's nest.
