Many people create such things on their own and also come across the problem of finding a suitable pump, because at the same time it must be small in size so as not to take up much space in the body, and also have a low noise level with sufficient jet power to raise the water column at least by short distance. Of course, you can always go and look for similar pumps on sale, but if the design is supposed to be completely homemade, why not create the pump yourself? It needs to be properly glued to a round piece of plastic; here you can use, for example, transparent plastic from a box of tic-tac candies. The diameter of this “washer” must be smaller than the diameter of the housing so that the “washer” can rotate freely inside along with the impeller. A hole is drilled in the center so that the motor shaft can be inserted. After this, the blades are cut out of the same tic-tac plastic - they should be shaped so that they are smaller than the diameter of the body, but only with a small gap - its increase will lead to inefficient operation of the pump. The blades must be glued to the gear to a round “washer”, as shown in the photo. It is important to maintain alignment, because large beats will lead to the pump quickly failing due to strong vibration. The angle between the blades should be 90 degrees, the height of the blades should be slightly less than the height of the body, but again, without too much clearance. To glue parts together, you can use superglue - it provides sufficient strength, is not afraid of moisture and dries quickly. To instantly cure superglue, you can use regular baking soda - if you sprinkle soda on superglue that has not yet hardened, it will immediately turn into a very strong compound.


Now you can assemble the entire structure together - the motor shaft is passed through a hole in the housing, on the other side a glued impeller is attached to it using a gear. It is important to assemble only after the glue has completely dried - otherwise the parts may shift and you will have to redo everything. A silicone hose is attached to the side of the case, to a pre-made hole - water will come out of it. It is best to use a hose with a diameter of 5-7 mm, but in extreme cases a regular dropper, which is sold in every pharmacy, will do, even though the diameter of its tube is small. The motor is attached to the body using hot-melt adhesive - this is also a rather important connection, and therefore you should use only high-quality branded glue sticks and a good glue gun that heats to the desired temperature. If these conditions are met, the connection will be high-quality and reliable, and most importantly, sealed.


Now all that remains is to glue the “cover” of the housing, in which the water intake hole is located. You can also glue it using hot glue, carefully sealing the entire seam.
