A few years ago, it never occurred to anyone that a TV could be decorated, refined, or made more sophisticated. The TV in every house stood in the living room, occupying the main place in the room, on a special stand or fit into the so-called “wall”. With the advent of LCD and plasma panels, the TV began to weigh less, it acquired thinner outlines, and it became possible not only to put it on a chest of drawers or a shelf, but also to hang it on the wall. In fact, the design of the TV appeared during this period. The very idea of placing a plasma panel on the wall prompted the idea of framing the TV. After all, there were always paintings hanging on the walls as decoration! What's worse than the LCD panel? If you put it in a noble wooden frame of gold, bronze or silver color (depending on the color scheme of the room), it will not yield to even the most exquisite details of your interior. There is an idea, there is demand - there is also its implementation! Designers, decorators and interior specialists keep up with the times. And now framing workshops are offering a new service - decorating a TV in framing frames. Framing in a baguette helps the TV fit into the interior and adds sophistication to it. A plasma TV panel or digital photo frame, no less than a painting and a mirror, needs to be framed in a baguette frame.

Do you have any doubts? Then let's imagine a country house or apartment in Moscow with a classic interior, designed primarily in cream, green colors, combined with shades of natural wood. This interior is distinguished by a wealth of decoration and accessories: massive gold figurines, mirrors, picture frames, chandeliers and sconces, antiques and antiques. All this is designed to create an atmosphere of comfort, warmth and elegant luxury. Furniture made of natural wood and leather, stucco molding and other details bring a feeling of success and stability to the inhabitants of such an interior. But how will a modern TV or plasma panel fit into such a room, which seems to deliberately emphasize its modern origins? It is impossible to imagine how such an object would look harmonious with classical elements!

It is the design of the TV in the frame that is designed to solve this problem. With the help of a baguette you can transform any modern element of technology beyond recognition! Frames for TVs and plasma panels are made in accordance with the interior design of a particular room. LCD TV panels, framed with a beautiful baguette frame, will fit into any interior, be it an apartment, hotel lobby, cafe, restaurant or office. A baguette for making a frame for a plasma TV panel can be matched to the color of the walls, furniture, and lamps, thus emphasizing certain details in the interior, creating a space in the same style.

Installing a TV on the wall. Original do-it-yourself frame

Many people are interested in how to install a TV on the wall. I mean, not how to screw the bracket, but how to approach this matter in an original way, and even better, so that you can do it yourself and decorate it aesthetically. I liked one idea, which was quite simple and did not require special knowledge or equipment.

Installing a TV on the wall. Original do-it-yourself frame

We will decorate the wall with the TV using furniture panels (Tamburat), and in order not to go into prof. terminology, I will say that we will make a frame from the well-known IKEA side tables for 400 to 900 rubles. In a nutshell, we will need 5-6 such panels and 3M Dual Lock self-adhesive fasteners (if in your city the 3M assortment is very limited, then you can use liquid nails (for fastening concrete-wood), or self-adhesive fasteners from another manufacturer, you can also make fastenings on dowels with nails, even more securely).

Instructions in several steps:

1. Decide how far your frame will extend beyond the border of the TV. Since the width and length of the table are 55cm * 55cm, it is necessary to proceed from the size of the TV (for a diagonal of up to 52 inches, 5 panels should be enough).

2. Select a swivel bracket for your TV.

3. After you have calculated how much space is needed inside for the bracket, you can begin to measure the cutting lines.

Saw the panels to create a frame. To avoid buying an extra table, cut one into 2 parts.

When cutting panels, place them with the glossy side up as the gloss is easily scratched.

And to ensure an even cut, buy a Bosch jigsaw file for laminate, from 300 rubles. PC. (One secret, so that there are no chips, you can cut the top layer of the panel with a knife using a square, just a fraction of one 1 mm, and saw next to the slot, in this case there will not be a single chip).

Place all the parts together side by side, insert the bracket and check the free space.

4. Apply self-adhesive tape to the back of the panels and to the wall. If the Velcro is reliable, then you don’t have to glue a lot, 3-4 places are more than enough.

As you guessed, the question is how to connect our frame now? But here everything is very simple, reliable double-sided Velcro or liquid nails are exactly what we need to attach the panels to the wall one at a time, and if it didn’t work out perfectly the first time, then we can do this several more times.

To prevent the panel from dangling on the wall, you need to hit it several times, quite hard!

The panels will not fall off, don't worry because they are very light.

Fastening process:

Draw the outline of the panels on the wall. The lines along which we will orient: the top horizontal and the left vertical. Starting from the top-left edge, we begin to attach the panels clockwise. Photo with lines on the wall, see below.

If you followed the contours exactly, then the last panel will have a perfectly even connection.

That's it, the TV wall design is ready!

So, having spent only 4.5 thousand rubles (if we take glossy tables) or 2 thousand rubles (if matte), we made a beautiful wall decoration for a TV. Plus the cost of tape and a hacksaw (a jigsaw is not necessary here).

Note

Yes, I almost forgot, it is advisable that the socket is located behind the TV, otherwise you need to install a tee inside the frame and run the wire through the cable channel.

What type of shelf is better to choose?

TV wall mounts vary. Everyone is guided by their own preferences and financial capabilities. When choosing, you need to consider the following factors.

  • Material. It's better to make a shelf out of wood. This is an environmentally friendly, durable material that looks stylish and attractive. The interior contains wooden furniture (or elements), so a wooden shelf will fit most harmoniously.
  • Type of construction. Furniture for a TV on the wall can be different, but it is easier to build a wall-mounted version.
  • Size. The size of the TV plays a key role. Measure the dimensions, and then make calculations regarding the shelf.
  • Accommodation. Decide in advance where the structure will be located. Good places are opposite the sofa, armchairs.

TV in the interior with a baguette frame

We select a molding for your TV based on the requirements for interior design and the color of the television panel. We assemble the frame and make a box, in accordance with the dimensions from the plane of the TV to the wall, which will cover the visible part of the TV at the end. We paint the box in the color of the baguette. We make technological holes in the box for connecting peripheral devices, as well as for ventilation of the TV itself to protect it from overheating. If necessary, we expand a quarter of the baguette so that the frame of the TV is not visible and creates a holistic perception from the design. Then, the television panel is securely fastened in the box. A bracket is screwed to mount the TV to the wall. Now, your TV can be hung on the wall and connected. Please note that the TV frame is completely invisible. To solve the problem of turning on the TV from the remote control in this case, we offer a hidden infrared or radio receiver
